Was this fight televised the night it was on? I was well aware of this matchup and interested in the outcome at the time, (I thought Norris was ripe for an upset) but do not remember it being advertised?
If it had been pay-per-view, I most likely would have gotten it back then.

All I remember is it was taking place in Mexico, and nothing was listed in the papers at the time as I recall. Weird.

    Anyone remember?

I believe it was on the undercard of Chavez. One of those spectacular Don King cards. It wasn't the original date because Simon had a health scare in the locker room before the fight. They postponed the bout.

I watched it live. PPV. One of my favorite fights of alltime.

I think it was on the undercard of Chavez-Haugen, so it would have been on Showtime live, yes.

You’re right, it was PPV. Not Showtime.

You are correct sir. I remember health scare before hand as well. Brown is one of those guys that is just criminally underated.

It was supposed to be on that card but got postponed. Norris fought Maurice Blocker instead.

The Norris team's habit of picking on a big name 147 pounder backfired big time. Brown was one of the absolute tough guys of his generation. One hell of a fighter.
