If this match had happened who wins?

Vazquez had just come off the sensational stoppage of Daniels; Norris had just stopped Pettway.

I think I posted this a couple years ago.

People will be wont to compare resumes or legacy which is cute and all but not protean to the discussion. The fact is that JCV had a great streak of success and was in true championship form up till 96. Maybe he's on the waning end by then, but at anytime from 93-96, I will take Vazquez.

As one scribe wrote at the time, "If Troy Waters put Norris on the canvas, Vazquez would put him through the canvas."

Very hard to say who was better or even who what the top lmw during this time. Something that needs consideration beyond mere name value anyways.

i think norris has got way way way too much in all aspects of the game.

even at this stage of his career i don't think he gets suckered in. vasquez could stop him. but he did stop daniels and beat castro. vasquez i dont think has the defence the speed or the real one punch wack to put him away.

Laurent Boudouani , d back foot stylist , whom stopped both , in 2 back foot per4mances , was d best lightmiddleweight in that time period .
Jorge Castro was long gone above that weight by then , and probably drained against Norris years b4 when they fought .

Yes, that was the end of JCV's run but the previous 5 years were pretty outstanding. After that, it was a precipitous decline.

Don't forget that he got inside Winky Wright's defense and dropped him 7 times. I think he would have found the opening against Norris.
