This is a very interesting fight for me. Jld is a good boxer but lacks power while burton is huge for the weight and has fought in the 240's previously. Burton has had 1 fight in 3 years and has had to shed a load of weight but at 6'5 he actually looked a good prospect at heavy only losing to Sam sexton in a fight he was favoured to win and he had been convincing in all previously fights.

I see this fight going 2 ways either jld winning convincingly as burton runs out of gas due to making the weight and inactivity or burton being to big and strong and keeping jld at bay with his strong jab and winning a close points decision.

Really looking forward to travis v Paul david :bbb travis to win by 3rd round ko and finally kick on

How you see the brothers getting on? Fancy travis to win 3rd ko and the other fight is very interesting but I'm guessing burtons inactivity will be his beating and tld with a late stoppage, tho burton who impressed me years ago if he is in shape and can shed the rust I'd of picked him to win

I fancy Travis to win, but not by stoppage. He can punch, but David's been in with some big punchers (Turba, Magee, Salam to an extent etc.) and hasn't been stopped; I don't see Travis being the first man to do so. I actually think it's going to be a close fight, but the fact that David only got the fight on about two week's notice and it's above his optimum weight limit should tip it in Travis' favour. Travis has been out for over a year though, and David isn't the best opponent to come back against...

Jon-Lewis vs. Burton is a great little North East battle. Burton is going to be the bigger, stronger man, but I see Jon-Lewis winning this one on points. I just think he'll be too good technically for Burton and his experience should come through in what will be a close fight.

Well they did mint didn't they. They have been working with a new strength coach (who I also work with) and maybe that was what lead to the improvements.

Excellent night for the Dickinsons! Well done to both! Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if both were British champions in 12 months - not too big of an ask now (assuming Bellew kicks on).

  10. Anyone attend the boxing show at Newcastle on Saturday this was getting talked about on North east tonight on Friday?

Think that Wraith and Phil Jeffries were promoting it

Yeah if your on Facebook there is a lot of photo's on GB Boxing. I think Duran is going down to London to do a dinner show and 1 of the sponsors for Birtley boxing gym got him to pop in as a bit of extra promotion or something. That's all I knew really. Was a cool suprise like.

    One step closer now!

JDL is surely the favourite, whoever he fights, for the British - Enzo is completely done and he'll box rings around McPhilbin.

There are so few good Brit cruisers that I think Maloney will try and get him to win it outright before kicking on (getting ahead of myself a bit here). It seems to be the way he does it i.e. Stuey Hall.

I'd favour him against Conquest, Williams and Mcphilbin. A good bit of matchmaking could get him an 'easy' defense against Turba/Wright.

Ajisafe is a good test for Travis. Should he win then he'll likely fight McKenzie for the vacant British. If Bellew KOs McIntosh as expected then I can see McIntosh retiring/extended break and Bellew vacating. Nice clear path for Travis!
