Another curse for Kenny was that he was too intelligent a guy to expect anything else but disaster for himself when facing a guy like Foreman. He would know what his fate was to be before the first bell..and no, the fight wouldn't have been any longer than 2 rounds..Frazier managed to hand around a few extra rounds, but Norton, with that foot in the bucket, and that frozen, doomed attitute would have been brutally buried again.
Even assuming that you are talking about their 3rd bout, what title did Ken win prior to fighting Ali?
Ali refuses to fight Norton, fights Leon Spinks instead, and loses WBC title on 2/15/78 Norton designated WBC Champ on 3/18/78 via his win over Young on 11/05/77 Norton loses WBC title to Holmes on 6/09/78 Ali wins back WBA title from Spinks from on 9/15/78 Ali officially retires on 9/06/79 and gives up WBA title , and WBA title is declared vacant. Therefore, Ali could have fought Norton for the WBA version sometime after 9/15/78 & before 9/06/79. Maybe after Norton fought Randy Stephens (11/10/78), and before Norton's debacle against Shavers on 3/23/79. Lookinig at it in retrospect, that might have been Ali's plan anyway....letting Shavers eliminate Norton, and Ali avoiding a fourth Norton fight and riding off into the sunset.
Mandingo?.....yeah.....just think of all the chicks Norton was laying pipe on back in the wide open days of the 70's.
