I had Holmes winning by 3 rounds. He built up a good early lead, Norton took the middle rounds, and they went back and forth in the later rounds. I had Holmes losing the last round though, I don't score in favor of late flurries, I score on who won the whole round unless there is a knock down or point deduction.
It's been a long time since I last viewed it. I don't remember my latest card. I think I may have had Holmes edging it. The very first time i saw it though, I distinctly recall having scored it 144-141 for Norton (erroneously based on the ten-point must).
I haven't seen this bout from start to finish in quite a few years, but if I recall, I had Larry winning 8 rounds, Norton winning maybe 6 rounds with 1 round even. Of course, that's a rough guess from memory.
Yes, from memory, I had Holmes winning by about 2 rounds. Here's the breakdown again Holmes- 8 rounds Norton- 6 rounds Even- 1 round Total- 15 rounds Result- Holmes by two rounds. Again, this is all from memory, and I don't even recall which rounds belonged to who, but it seems about right.
That was a great fight and one of Holmes' greatest performances. That jab was a thing of beauty. I was always a big fan of Holmes, he was my first favorite fighter.
