How's Kenny do against Bruno s oppenents? And especially, how's he do at the same stage as Frank was, against.. Bonecrusher Smith. Non title fight Witherspoon. Title fight Tyson. Title fight. Lewis. Title fight Mccall. Title fight Tyson. Title fight.
He loses to Smith, early career. He beats Witherspoon, loses to Tyson, beats Lewis, beats McCall, loses to Tyson again.
I believe Smith would have found Norton harder to hit than Bruno but would have eventually caught him and knocked Ken out, Witherspoon used the same cross armed defense as Ken did which would cancel each man out but Ken was in much better shape than Spoon was in when he met Frank, so I feel Norton would be too sharp for him, Tyson would have been caught a lot by Ken early on in their bout because against Bruno his head movement wasn`t very active, but after being fustrated I think Tyson would start catching him and take him out, could be close though, Norton would be out-boxing Lewis who would struggle against the cross armed guar, I think Ken could have out-pointed a pre-teward Lennox unless he got careless, he would out-jab him the same way Bruno did for so long, Norton would also out-box McCll who wasn`t on his level at all, Tyson in `96 wa more aggressive than Tyson in 1989 and would take Norton out early.
So in a way, he has much the same success /failure has Bruno had iyo, apart from the Witherspoon fight? Could be a good fight that actually, i can see a close battle but Norton steaming ahead for the last few rounds and getting a decision. Then he d have a rematch with Smith perhaps? Before facing Tyson in a unification fight.
This is pretty spot on.. I see Tyson possibly doing Norton a bit easier the first go around then I think you’re insinuating, but I can also see your side. I also think Ken would have a good shot vs early Lewis but he could definitely be taken when Lennox connected. So I’m not sure if Ken could avoid the fire all night, I’d probably still go with Lennox by KO while down on the cards. Maybe he gets him hurt late like he did Tucker but unlike Tucker Norton maybe doesn’t survive. All other points I’m pretty much right with you.
Beats mccall and i am not even sure that he would survive against smith and spoon. I don't have to say anything about lewis and Tyson..
He'd not last five imo with Tyson. Against Lewis, let's remember that Lennox was no where near his best v Bruno, so Norton could take advantage. Thing is tho, he's facing a guy who hits like hell and Ken s chin isn't a Ali chin.. So maybe he's doing good a few rounds, as Frank did, then BANG.?
Do you think Norton was a little less durable than Bruno? I'm just asking because of course frank took Tyson 5. I personally don't see him getting past that but i also don't see him going that fast. Tyson wasn't in great shape in 89 either, so maybe Kenny can last a little long.
Lewis was missing all over the place v Frank and Norton was able to evade most of Ali`s shots who was far better than a pre-Steward Lewis.
Tyson didn`t seem to respect Frank, he just kept tearing forwards but Bruno held the back of his head a lot and Mike`s wasn`t cutting the ring off the way he did under Rooney, very messy fight.
