does the pride of the irish beat the formidible ken norton? my guess is that norton starts slow and braddock picks him to pieces.

I can't see James Braddock beating Ken Norton... Through most of his career, Ken mainly lost to two types of fighters, either very elite boxers or world class punchers... Braddock really doesn't fall into either of those categories. I can't see him as having enough power to really hurt Ken, or at least not to the extent that men like Foreman and Shavers did, and he sure as hell was no Muhammad Ali. Norton probably takes a close decision on the cards.

I see Norton taking a fairly wide decision. Braddock would have his moments, but Ken would be too powerful for Jimmy. And better prepared than Max Baer.

You're probably right.. As I mentioned before, Braddock simply did not fall into the category of fighter(s) that typically defeated Norton. Sure, I think there may be some guys who weren't exactly the puncher that Foreman was nor a boxer on Ali's level who might have beaten him, but I don't see Braddock as being among one of those "in-between" types. Evander Holyfield was more along the lines of what I was thinking of, and Braddock is not Holyfield.
