Only watched it once in its entirety and I had Holmes winning it with a point or so.

Don't remember my exact scoring but I do remember thinking there was no question whatsoever that Holmes won.

Scored it for Norton the first time I watched (by a single point, I believe). Never really got the same result after multiple succeeding viewings.

This fight should have been fight of the year.

It was an almost unanimous choice as fight of the year. Great fight. Holmes a good winner for me, by about three points.

I never thought this fight was all that close. I thought Holmes dominated more rounds with his slick boxing and left jab. I thought Holmes won the fight at least 9-6.

This fight was not as close as what the scorecards read. It was a good fight but I had holmes as the clear winner by at least 3 rounds, maybe 4.

There is rounds what can be scored all wrong due to styles. But if you watch it for 2 times you can see that larry winning.

I did a piece on this a while ago in the forum................. Larry Holmes won............ Ken Norton was pumped and buffed at 220 lbs., but also slow and very winded down the home stretch...... Larry Holmes supposedly had a sore left bicep muscle, yet his jab looked fine...

I was much more impressed with the unknown Larry Holmes back in 1978 than I was with Ken Norton as a champion for the WBC....... YES! I saw this fight live on TV back in '78 with my pops... I now own a tape copy...

In my book, after 15 hard fought rds., Larry Holmes deserved the win.....

Larry Holmes is a proven top-10 ATG heavyweight fighter / champion; Ken Norton is NOT!

I had Holmes winning about 8 rounds to 7.

If I remember right, I gave Holmes the first 7 rounds and round 13, and the rest to Norton (including the infamous final round).

Unanimous except for the people who actually vote, apparently.

I suppose they gave it to Ali-Spinks more for its shock value or significance. To be fair, that fight did contain a lot of both.

I did see this live at the time, gee those were better days viewing fights for boxing fans, and had it 8-7 for Larry. I thought at the time how he threw his jab picture perfect.
