Bad match for Norton.. Liston not only had the power to crack Norton's chin, he also had the right style and tools for landing often and early on him.. Don't see this one lasting much longer than Norton-Foreman, if even that long.

Norton was a good fighter, but didn't have the right set of skills or tools to fight sonny with.. he couldn't box from a distance the way that Ali did, and didn't have the chin or defense to fight him up close... Ken was too prone to getting decked early and couldn't fight going backward. If he's lucky, he might steal a round or two early, but inevitably he's getting stopped.

True. Very bad mach up,indeed, for Ken. As soon as Sonny forces him to retreat,it's game over.

Norton couldn't fight going backwards. Liston overwhelms him early with a bombardment of long hooks/uppercuts/clubbing right hands...ices Norton in 1-2 rounds

Sonny Liston TKO 1 Ken Norton

It may look a bit like the Big Cat Williams fights, without the Mini- Successes Cleve enjoyed before the roof fell in !

Don't sell Ken short. I think he'd do fine and not get hurt at all, but after the bell to start rd 1 rings, that all changes. Ken would get his ass handed to him, and early.

Back Norton up and he's yours ,Liston had the equipment to do just that Sonny by ko early, maybe inside 2 rds.
