Seems like everytime I spar I get nose bleeds. Doesn't help that I have a big ass nose....pretty easy target..lol. But any tips other than continuing to work on my defense? The more I spar its getting better...bleeding less than when I first started, but its still always sore as hell and its slowing me down from sparing more than once a week. Any tips on conditioning it to getting hit?

Stick a tampon up in there before you start.

mine bleeds alot too, if your not sparring beause your nose is SORE then mabye you arnt cut out for boxing.
You can also get head gear with nose protection which would help.

You can get your nostril cauterized, they basicaly burn the vein with a nitrate stick or electrocautery needle. I know 2kids at my old gym had it done to them. Search up "Nostril Cauterization" on google if you want some more info.

Some people just bleed a lot from the nose when they get punched there. It's genetic probably, so there's not much you can do. Work on your defence, and protect that nose if you don't want nose bleeds. Work on it with your trainer.

My Nose Bleeds All The Time As Well Raja510..... Even From A Little Tap Most Times Im A Bloody Mess...

Try Going To See A Doctor And getting It Cauterized, It Should Fix It Or Help Out... But Theres No Guarantees, I Had It Done 3 Times, It Helped A Bit But My Nose Still Bleeds Easy...

And I Know You Said U Wanted Tips Other Then Improving Your Defence.. But It Does Help A Whole Lot...

Thanks for the ideas. If I still keep bleeding a lot I'll look into a doc and see if something can get done. I'm not worried about the pain just the fact that I'm bleeding all over the place. I'll keep working on my defense. :good Thanks.

    dont get hit.

after a while your nose gets used to it but i found my best solution, because i was a chronic nose bleeder, was to just not get hit. i becasem a defensive wiz in my gym and became pretty hard to hit.

or you can get it cauterized but thats the last option. thats where they freeze or burn some cells in your nose or soemthing. just work on your defense brotha.

you could try the facesaver headgear either the mask or the bar until you feel comfartable sparring without taking so many punches to the head. The other alternative is cartarising the vessels in your nose. I'd go with the 1st suggestion unless you are fighting competively (meaning over 10 fights a year). Put it this way your signing your name on the ring mat. Good Luck

Decent. Second deck section 211. Corner of the black hole basically on the second deck. I'm in row 8, seat 10. Come by and grab a beer. :good
