Yeah thats what ive heard Youngblood, thing is im moving away for 6 months in February and who knows when il be able to fight again, such a pain in the balls.
its normal to have these kinds of problems when you start boxing. When i started about 4 years ago I always had pain in my thumbs, shoulders and jaw. I struggled with these problems for a couple of months but then it was like my body adapted to the new lifestyle
I have a pretty big nose but never seemed to have this problem. My problem though was that even if I barely got hit, the space between my nose and eyes seemed to get a little darker as if I was healing from a black eye. It was never anything serious nor very dark but it used to bother me because some people thought I was always getting beat up and there were times where I don't even think I got hit on the face and I still got them. I never figured why that happened. Another thing was (and it would happened again if I start training) that everytime I trained my faced got all red and people once again thought I had gotten beat pretty good even when I didn't spar :-(
You should tuck your chin better I think, usually getting hit flush on the nose is a sign of it being up in the air. I wore some guys head gear a while ago, it had a large piece of padding under the chin that prevented me from properly tucking it, I got bloodied up by jabs to the nose. Normally they would have landed on the forehead.
I was always under the impression that any solid hit to the nose would cause bleeding from just about any one. I'd work on getting hit in the face less. Less hits to the nose=less nosebleeding. I'm new to having sparring partners and while I'd never until recently had a busted nose in a fight, it turns out that if you spar 10-15 minutes with me my movements become predictable. I slipped almost every jab, then folks started jabbing where I was gonna be instead of where I was. I moved right into a hell of a jab that busted it up right nice. No break, plenty of blood though. Just remember if it happens in a fight, don't blow it out. I don't know why..but trainers always tell their fighters that in the between rounds on TV. Bottomline..I had always accepted that busted bloody noses were a very common thing in boxing and that everyone ends up with a broken nose eventually. I wouldn't sweat the nosebleeds too much unless it's bleeding anytime its touched.
