    Kirk Johnson was very Godly.

He would destroy all current HWs.

Well, pro boxer does have contracts with his promoter, manager, team etc.
Any one from these are about money they might get from boxer's fights as %. There are also a lot of clauses in contracts and there is thing called taxman like in all businesses and all jobs, boxing is no different there.

For example, someone who is event's promoter might have contract that he will offer x numbers of fights and these fights should be accepted by him only then you might get this fight on card.
Then there are contracts with managers, maybe boxer had signed that he will fight only vs opponents approved by manager during timeframe x months or years.
Different variables there are in the game and boxers not always are so free as fans are thinking.
Contracts might be exclusive and non exclusive.
For example, you have non exclusive contract that promoter A might offer you 2 fights during 1 year in his shows IF he approves fight card.

Fight cards are finally approved by event's promoters.
They need to sell show, while boxer's promoter and manager needs to get their % and the more is purse the better for them. Unless boxer is build up with intent to get him for example from 1-2-3 k per fight level till xx xxx digits per fight level, then some sacrifices are needed.
Later there are xxx xxx digits levels and if lucky, x xxx xxx digits levels.

Boxer ofc might also earn from adds deals etc like stuff.

There are 2 main mistakes when fans judge boxer's real income.
    1. in public reported income from fight in mass media might contain only minimal warranted purse or even part from this.

    2. The boxer does have all announced income as " take home ".
Boxer might have to pay from this to his manager, his promoter and team plus sparring partners etc expenses.
There is also taxman, depending from country, how good is you accountant and tax advisor, they might take from some 10% or almost half from money you get on paper after all expenses paid off.

Ad deals are different, some boxer's managers does gets from them %, some no, depending from contacts and there are agents, they too might charge % if they had get for you fight or ad deal with some company.

If other fighters were getting what Chisora, Whyte and other hyped brands are getting, they'd fight just as much.

We've completed four months in 2021.

Basically, a third of the top 20 is waiting on Eddie Hearn and half has already fought/or has a fight scheduled.

    * Tyson Fury (in negotiations w/Joshua and Wilder)
    * Deontay Wilder (in negotiations with Fury)
    * Anthony Joshua (in negotiations with Fury)
    * Luis Ortiz (in negatiations with Ruiz)
    * Dillian Whyte fought in March
    * Joseph Parker fought in February and on May 1
    * Andy Ruiz fought on May 1
    * Alexander Povetkin fought in March
    * Oleksandr Uysk (wating on Joshua-Fury negotiations)
    * Joe Joyce (waiting on Usyk - who is waiting on Joshua)
    * Tony Yoka fought in March
    * Efe Ajagba fought in April
    * Oscar Rivas fought in March - plans to fight for the Bridgerweight title next
    * Michael Hunter (in negotiations with Hrgovic)
    * Filip Hrgovic (in negotiations with Hunter)
    * Dereck Chisora fought May 1
    * Frank Sanchez fights Saturday
    * Trevor Bryan fought in January (in negotiations with Mike Tyson)
    * Robert Helenius/Adam Kownacki (were supposed to rematch, no word)
    * Daniel Dubois fighting next month

As mentioned, a lot of people have fought already this year so it isn't unusual that nothing has been scheduled. By late summer we should have Fury/Joshua and Ruiz/Ortiz. Maybe Wilder will be back by then, too.

About Chisora I do not agree: he most likely is on ppvs and fights vs top guys because he is rare case in modern top HW boxing: guy fights any one offered without long and boring talks before contract and scheduled fight if $ is offered enough. He doesn't cherry pick.
Sadly this is real rarity in modern days.
Whyte, yeah, his resume looked good until eddie had reanimated already not so much actual old, long years over the hill Povetkin.
Later appeared that even in called as eliminator:p fight eddie does have rematch clause and Whyte fans are bragging about how cool cotender he will be cos he beated post covid 41 years 6 months old long years ago over the hill small HW in Povetkin, while no problems to forget how 40 years 11 months old shadow from former Povetkin had sparked him out cold.
    Wtf division and eddie.

    OMG.

Did you really start a thread TWO DAYS after Joseph Parker's SECOND fight of this year complaining that Parker and others who fought on Saturday don't have their next fights scheduled yet? (LOL)

And, when someone says a number of top 20 fighters have fights scheduled, then you want to argue whether they are top 20 or not? Frank Sanchez is rated in the top 15 by the WBC, WBA and WBO. How is he not top 20?

Since you took the time to start this thread, why don't you name the top 20 heavyweights, when they last fought, and who SHOULD have a fight scheduled by now?

So we don't have to argue about who is top 20, for starters.

    No one cares.
The reality is that rankings are used for matchmaking and rights to get org title fight.
Each from these orgs does have their own ranking, then there are some other rankings: the ring, boxrec and others.
If you wish to get title fight from org A, you care about ranking in this org not in org B.

For example when these Vitali and Wlad were active, Vitali had been ranked by WBO and had 2 title fights? and then by WBC only and had WBC title fights.
Other orgs didn't ranked him, only boxrec, WBC and the ring I think. While Wlad had been ranked by IBO, WBA, WBO, IBF, boxrec, the ring.

We need Fury and Joshua signed. It’s what holding off Usyk and Wilder, likely their possible fights against Joyce and Martin respectively. We also need Ruiz to finally accept the Ortiz fight.

Now we're into late May, and there is STILL just one top 20 heavyweight scheduled, against a very soft opponent.

Michael Hunter is fighting an old clubfighter who was schooled at cruiserweight a couple of years ago by a shot Lebedev. Pathetic.

(Dubois, who has a somewhat interesting fight with Dinu coming up, and Kaybayel, who is fighting an old journeyman, are not yet in the top 20).

There are rumors of fights and negotiations (Fury-Wilder and Joshua-Usyk) but nothing official yet.

Ruiz seems to be avoiding Ortiz, Hunter chickened out of a IBF final eliminator agaist Hrgovic.
