I'm Not Trying to start a flame war but im asking a serious question.....

Why Do You Think Euro Fighters Get No Respect? & No Fighters Care To Fight Them?

  2. Don't really care I'm English not European...... Couldn't care less if a boxer from Poland or where ever doesn't get respect

Because your typical Yank stereotypes them as over-protected fighters because they haven't seen them. Take Dzinziruk, this guy beats many a top fighter at 154 yet too many people think he's a poor overprotected belt holder.

I think it's because you don't get to see Euros (Brits or mainland) on US tv. Also, many Euros (like those in Germany) are not willing to go to the US.

Simply because generally people prefer fighters from their own country doing well.

So HBO importing a load of euro's would not be cost effective, because the american market usually doesn't want to see them.

Why would a US promoter want to make a fight for less money vs a relitivly unknown euro if he could set up a fight with a more known more easy to win american?

This in turn leads to the ignorent conclsusion from some "boxing fans" that because they have not heard of a boxer or who they have fought, that they must be a bum.

    :good

Because the most prominent promoter from England is safety first, and the majority of our so called prospects just aren't very tough. They make terrible career decisions under Warren, and we all know that the best fighters in the world fight in America. You get respect from fighting the best, and our fighters either don't do that or do it and fall short.

In fairness, not many Brits would class themselves as European. Sure we're in Europe, but it's as if the UK's a mini-continent in itself. Not to mention it's right on the edge and not connected to any other country.

When people mention European boxers we tend to think of more Eastern based European's like Danes, Poles, Hungarians - which is why you would mention guys like Kessler, Adamek and Erdei and not people like Hatton or Froch.

i wouldnt even go to say that....

but these euro guys.... once they get to the top.. are unknown in america and most of teh boxing money is made in america.... so it would be stupid to pit a guy against some one who is actaully skilled yet unknown... it doesnt do anything for that guy if he wins & if he loses he lost to someone random

because american tv runs boxing and the average american can't see past their own nose.

  14. 1) They do get respect in there own countries

    2) Probably because other than the UK and Germany no other country comes close to matching the Money that is available for boxing. So American boxers don't want to go and fight a dangerous boxer overseas for less money when they can fight a well known less dangerous boxer from the the states

Because in reality, the top competitions are in America... Isn't that why fighters from 3rd world nations come here to fullfill their american Dream??? Anybody who wants to become a world class fighter needs to fight in America and that's just the way it is... Not enough Euro fighters get respect because alot of them refuse to fight in the states.. They fight in their comfort zone against weak competition... Calzaghe, Ottke, and Darius Mchaweleski or whatever the **** his name is are perfect examples..

NAturally, fans don't respect that kind of stuff.
