somehow, this pac-algieri event doesn't have the same kick that other fights this hear have had. I was a lot more pumped up about the hopkins-kovalev fight...guess i figured it would be great if the old man could pull it out. but even canelo-lara was a bigger event, IMO...not to mention floyd-maidana I and II, hopkins-shumenov, pacman-bradley II and crawford-gamboa....

and i think it really has to do with the fact that pacman has been living on his reputation for the past couple of years and not really delivering...his decline was especially notable in the bradley fights. I don't know what it is...maybe it's the fact that he's trying to cut back on the PEDs. He just doesn't have that star appeal anymore.

That's not that strange because Kovalev vs B-Hop was the event of the year (not for the Brits though, because they had Froch vs Groves). Much bigger as any PPV or HW clash.

Fight that was on TV but should have been PPV: Hopkins-Kovalev
Fight that is PPV but should be on TV: Pacquiao-Algieri

In terms of Pac's decline, yes it may have to do with age but Bradley is one of the toughest buildings to knock over in boxing. Just look who Pac has fought since the Cotto KO and you will see he fought one of three types of boxers: great defense, great chins, or a taller/rangier opponent. Those by themselves or in combo can cause a KO artist's KO percentage to drop when you are fighting a who's who in the sport of boxing.
