Not everybody is a hall of famer or a world champion or even a contender. Name one or more fighters who are basically unknown (maybe even by historians) but they impressed you in one fight for whatever reason. I have 2 examples: J_ustin (this word is banned on ESB it looks) Fortune may not be unknown because he was and now is again part of Pacquiao's training team, but as a fighter he was pretty unknown. But he impressed me one night when he stepped into the ring with Lennox Lewis. Lewis looked like Goliath fighting David and Fortune showed guts, heart and head movement. He impressed me and I will not forget it. Another example: One night in 2002 I saw Michel Trabant fighting Jozsef Matolcsi. Trabant was a European Champion fighter out of Germany who lost a World Title fight later to Jose Rivera. That night he was fighting Matolcsi for the European Championship and Matolcsi, who was brought in to lose anyways, was outboxing him, outslicking him and hurt him badly and Trabant was cut over both eyes within only a few rounds. And then something happened: it looked as if Matolcsi was shocked when he saw the damage he had inflicted on Trabant and it looked to me as if he had sympathy with him and I do not remember exactly the situation at the end, but it went similar to this: Matolcsi had stopped fighting and turned away and Trabant took immediately advantage and "legally" suckerpunched him about 2 times and the ref stopped the fight. Matolcsi impressed me that night because he put on a boxing clinic against a European Champion and then showed sympathy and had to pay a big price for it. That fight taught me that some guys like Matolcsi have lots of skills but they lack the ruthlessness of other competitors.
Pete Padilla vs Manual DeLarosa. 12 rounds for the NY State lightweight title. Had the old Felt Forum underneath MSG rocking. Went the distance. Had everything a fight fan could ask for and more.
