I'm not impressed either... Something just feels very... Off when watching him. Regarding the number of fights, I can't see the point racking up a huge number of fights unless they are developing his experience in terms of rounds...
The guy is pretty raw and his gold medal is borderline fraudulent, but I do think he has enough tools in the locker to be a real factor in the division, I mean the division is that weak that we have Wilder holding a belt!
He has KO'd durable aponents to say he hasn't got power is ridiculous he's a huge puncher, wilder took four rounds to stop gavern, he's only had 11 fights give him a chance
Certainly has terrific potential but crowning him now as the next heavy champ is very premature.Wait until he fights a fighter with a pulse and under 40 years of age.
I figure so far he has beaten who he is supposed to, his record doesn't seem different than Price though Price may have faced some better guys by this point Joshua is beting the usual suspects like Skelton and Sprott don't be surprised to see Audley or Danny Williams or ***ton and Rogan on the record soon I am a guy who is more positive than negative with Wilder and am interested in seeing Joshua succeed I want there to be a good sturdy champ after Wlad, not a 4 yr dark age of divided titles with 4 holders who wont fight
I'm impressed, in fact he's the only young HW that shows to be of any real promise. Although until he steps up there's no telling, I mean Price looked like a monster as well against this level of opposition so who knows.
As a heavyweight fans of amateur and pro boxing, I watched Joshua closely. He has elite level size. ( height / reach / weight in shape ) Very good skills Good, but not great power A solid chin, but nothing beyond that. Good heart His weakness is very faster handed boxers near his size, or vs the big punchers with skills. He'll need to work on defense a bit, clinching when needed, and adapting when needed. Joshua is not Audley Harrison!!!! He's closer to Lennox Lewis. Not as good as Lewis, but a sure fire top 5 talent who can win a belt or two once Wlad retires. Grade A prospect. The Super heavyweight amateurs are loaded with grade A type of prospects. Medzhidov! A brutal puncher with good skills, he floored and defeated Joshua. Grade A+ Dycho - A 6'7"+ mobile boxer with some power. Johsua beat him on points. Grade A- Omarov. A 6'5" young Russian with super heavyweight skills and good power. Grade A- Savon - The Cuban ( cousin of the legandary Fleix Savon ) has fast hands and skills. Likely beat Joshua on points in the 2012 Olympic games, but was robbed. Grade A-
I don't remember Medzhidov flooring Joshua. He could floor an elephant if he caught it right but I don't recall that at all. He floored Savon, Cammarelle, and Dychko. In fact, he knocked the later out in brutal fashion.
I was never impressed with that british hype job and in the olympics he lost like 3 fights , cuban guy schooled him in very first fight and even after all those gift decisions a lot of limeys still think he won olympic gold!!
