his character showed when he whined so much after the fight when he was clearly getting dominated and will never beat andre ward
whined? he said why he thought he were being out boxed. And I doubt anyone would be able to conclude wether a headbutt is intentionel or not while being in the ring and not having seen the match on the tv. But I´m guessing you aren´t going to agree at all
He was not exciting because he beat the **** out of Kessler...of course thats not going to be exciting...
I really think it's to early to say Ward is exceptional and has a great ring intelligence, I mean Kessler was out of place when they fought and he looked clueless. As much as I like Kessler and hoped he could show something spectacular against Ward, he really didn't look good. I give Ward credit though for following through and showing some great abilities, stamina and footwork. On the other hand Ward don't have much power so against Dirrell or Taylor he will have a stylistically more difficult matchup. Bottom line, I don't think Ward was tested enough to say if he's the favorite to win the super six or not.
it wasn't like kesler was doing much when the fight was fought on the outside. ward was still kicking his ass. he fought well beyond his years. when it was on the inside he reminded me of benard hopkins, even though roy is ward's idol.
I was impressed with the ass whooping he gave Kessler. Yes, I agree that the butting was ridiculous. However, only those two blatant butts looked intentional to me. Ward was barelling in with his head the whole fight, I could understand the other less blatant butts being accidental. Also if you think about it it really does fall on Kessler, because as you can see Ward coming in like that ALL NIGHT and Kessler needed to adjust to it. The first rule of boxing is to protect yourself at all times. With Ward coming in with his head all night regardless of what the Ref is doing Kessler needed to adjust to defend himself. He did not, and that reflects poorly on Kessler's performance. I did not feel the clinching was excessive, and you can see through a lot of the fight while Ward was holding he was not tying up Kessler's arms. I saw Kessler trying to tie up Ward to keep him from punching on the inside. Ward would hold and hit, and the rule is if you have an arm free you can throw punches. Again, Kessler did nothing to defend himself or even try to mount an offense while Ward was inside on him. Sure, Ward fought a bit dirty, but Kessler didn't really do any fighting at all.
