Not impressed with Ward

Calling Ward a scumbag immediately qualifies YOU as a scumbag, scumbag.

 

This just goes to show how much people here pay attention. Kessler fans only saw what they wanted to. They seem to have selective memory. Ward DID get warned for coming in with his head down. I guess this is all part of the denial.

 

People, please realize that headbutts are going to be more common when a conventional fighter fights a southpaw. Also, please realize that the clinches were mutual. I know most of you are more fans of chatting than you are of boxing, but take it from someone who actually knows the sport, and hates chatting.

 

This post should have ended the thread. But the denial is too strong and overpowering.

Winning a gold medal means that Ward is no good! Why?! Because the same Euro haters claim that Vladimir Klitschko's winning of the gold medal meant nothing, that he can't fight!

Ward won the fight by an intentional head butt, no doubt at all. Ward's fans claim that winning illegally is the way to win?! Ward's referee helped him out when he should have been disqualified.

In my opinion the tournament thus far has exposed the entire division. We've all talked about how stacked with talent 168 is, but in the tourney we have six of the division's best, and they're just not that good. I think the fact that we have a bunch of guys who are all on about the same level created a bit of an illusion.

Froch and Abraham both look like KO's waiting to happen. As soon as either enounters a really good boxer/puncher who can think on his feet, the lights go out.

Dirrell is pretty much what I thought he was before the tourney started. A talented kid who ain't ready for prime time.

Last Saturday night Kessler looked suspiciously similar to a shot fighter. I think age, injuries, 43 fights, and an extended period of relative inactivity may have caught up with him. I won't be surprised if Froch beats him.

Ward looks like some bazaar, 2nd rate, clone of a Bernard Hopkins/Mustafo Hamsho hybrid. A good bully would tear his ass up.

And then there's Jermain "shot to ****" Taylor. I'm a huge fan, but the Abraham fight made it clear that JT is done.

The guy point blank cheated his way to victory, he could have won with his skills and talent but he chose to win via a dirty and unhonourable way. For me it takes away any glory he had in winning.

 

NO one is saying Ward didn't win. What we are saying is he DIDN'T need to resort to those tactics to win. It has tarnished what could have been a great victory. If I was any of the other super six I'd be very concerned about fighting this cheater. A headbut can ruin a fight.

PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT MARGARITO tampering with HANDWRAPS but using your purposely using your head to smash someones face is alot worse and could be VERY damaging.

Watch the slo-mo. There is no way those were 'accidental'.
