Just my understanding. He didn't do his full time. He was let out early on the promise he wouldn't **** up again. When he did, he ends up serving whatever was left on the original plus any added for the recent crime.
Nah this is a case of stupidity. Im sure the people who got robbed by James at gunpoint would feel the same way. Any actual confirmation of James getting robbed?I dont recall reading any story about it leading up to his last arrest.
Anne Wolfe was on FNF saying that she believes in Kirkland and loves him as a son. She said he should have known better and it's upsetting but she is behind him. The guy was on parole for armed robbery and part of the parole conditions was that he was not allowed to own a gun, from what I understand he was under a year from the end of his parole. Do I feel bad for him? A little, because it's such a bone-headed move and the punishment is not befitting the crime, but he should have known better.
Most of these guys get let out early because the prisions are filled to the brim. Not only that, but purchasing a gun is not illegal. It was only illegal in this case because of his past transgressions.
He was definately robbed at gunpoint. Anyway, putting this guy away for 4 to 5 years for purchasing a gun does no one any good. His career is over with, taxpayers will have to foot the bill for his prison stay, and what happens when he gets out? More than likely, he'll try to box again, fail and then resort robbing people again after he finds it impossible to get a decent paying job with his record and lack of education. Except this time, he might actually hurt someone. Now maybe you can find something beneficial from this situation, but I don't.
which makes it illegal nonetheless. From what I read, it seems he just did something really really stupid since he did use his own ID to purchase it.
That's basically my stance on the issue. They can't just let it go, but giving him 4 or 5 years for buying a gun based on **** he did years ago is pretty harsh.
My point is only that he didn't pay his full dues the first time around. He was out early on conditions he agreed to. Like I said earlier, adding a second gun to the situation only ends up with someone dead.
the man was on parole .. and one of those stipulations was not to buy or have a gun in your posession ... that's what happens when you become a convicted felon .. this guy screwed up .. yeah his career is likely over and that's terrible but he did it to himself .. this wasn't a guy who was set up or any of the likeing this was a guy who broke a serious law willingly and then did not comply with his parole ... the law gave him a chance the first time by letting him go on parole .. he messed that up .. how many chances does he need to beable to box? ... if he was robbed at gun point he has money he has promotion .. get a body gaurd thats what you do .. you don't violate your parole and go and get a gun and be a hot shot about it ...
No he doesnt,if you are a convicted felon you lose a lot of your rights for life. You guys shouldnt hold your breath for this, hes not going to be relevant in the sport anymore.
