First, off if this guy gets a title shot more power to him. He is a tough SOB who has beaten some top guys, my opinion though is that you should not expect much. Since being beat by TOS in 2004, he has been beating largely non-descript opposition and had a loss turned into a no contest against JC Gomez. McCall looked slow and lethargic in many of these comeback fights including Darroll Wilson(who was completely shot) and Yanqi Diaz(who gave him problems). McCall may get a title shot and hell he probably deserves a title shot just based on activity...but at this point Maskaev, Peter, or Vitali would all beat him for the WBC belt.
Props to McCall for his victory over Sinan Samil Sam. The Turk is a slow plodder,and surely no top gun at all.However,Sam has some decent skalps in his fight record.McCall beat him on his home turf in front of a few thousand fanatical Turks. I am not really sure whether he deserves a title shot or not,but he looked horrible against Gomez who easily outboxed McCall before he ran out of gas in the later rounds. Gomez probably deserves a shot at a world title,too. Anyway! McCall would lose against all present title holders IMO.
