you've highlighted beautifully in one sentence the paradox that undermines modern day boxing.
on one hand, people are fed up with the belts. on the other hand, these same people refer to these same belts with esteem (especially when it refers to a countryman/favorite that they want to build up).

this isn't meant as a judgment on you. just pointing out that people tend to judge the federations and their trinkets generally, but reverse that judgment (unknowingly sometimes) when it is associated with a fighter they become 'personally invested' in
