Not really a boxing thread but it kind of fits into the realm of boxing, GUYS & GIRLS do yourself a favor and go and SEE THIS FILM! Truly a film that hits hard and is worth every cent to see it.

Sadly hardly any damn Cinemas are showing it But really after seeing it and it might not be for everyone but truly if you are a sports fan who loves the underdog story about any washed up finished sports star who has nothing left but the talent he use to have.

As i said I know this is not really boxing but the heart and feel of the film could be a boxer so I think it fits a eastside boxing thread. GO SEE THE FILM truly go see it (as I said not for everyone) but if you like a true gritty story and an AMAZING performance not only by Mickey Rourke (who totally OWNS THIS FILM) but also Marisa Tomei and also Evan Rachel Wood are brilliant in this.

Get the time, Check it out IF A DAMN CINEMA NEAR U IS SHOWING IT!

It's a good flick and very much worth the watch.
When I first saw the trailer I though to myself "This actually looks quite good, it's a pity they didn't mould the story around boxing instead of wrestling".
But after seeing it, you realise that wrestling fits it much better than anything else.

I have seen snipets of the movie here and there, also watched Mickey pick up an award for his efforts. I think it will be worth a look one day when I have some time to relax and soak up a worthwhile story.

Yeah that scene was just amazing and know Mickey did all those stunts just shows how hard he really put in for this film. Many might not like it but everyone would be moved by the storyline and acting.

I don't get some Cinemas the guy just won best Actor and it hardly is showing in Cinemas and yet BRIDE WARS and garbage like that will be huge here. I say Mickey Rourke should go and punch up anyone who does not see his film lol :bbb

Definetly be checking it out soon..Looks like a decent movie..Something im yet to see for the past 6months atleast..

One thing though, hasnt Rourke aged badly??

Remember him in the mid 80's early 90's??

Hollywood always go on how the boxing he done ****ed him.The bloke only had a few fights..Must be Gatti like in the ring..lol.

great movie, mickey rourke was perfect for the role - kind of like his real life which is ironic

Would say the age thing would be from all the drugs and drinking he did but his age works so well in this film, It's almost a character itself.

See 'Barfly', an earlier Mickey Rourke film, great stuff with a couple of good punchups.
