He'll do fine where he is at cruiserweight and will pick up a world title. Heavyweight is another story. I don't think he has heavyweight power. His power is good accumalative power but not big power to really hurt a big heavy.
Usyk will be hard to beat because his movement and footwork is brilliant. His defense is very good and he doesn't give his opponent enough time to get enough clean shots on him as he's in and out very quickly. I think it works with the guys he's facing now but when or if he steps upto heavy and fights say someone like Wladmir who has the height and long jab it will be his undoing. The movement won't be enough. He mixes up his shots well but when the power hits him i think he'd have trouble placing his shots. I could be wrong and he will do amazing at heavyweight but i can't see it from what i've seen currently from his aibas and to the pros. He's a top class fighter no doubt and will do very well at cruiser.
He's legit as legit gets, his speed and footwork is too much for anyone in the CW right now, as far as Kudryashov goes, he has power but other than that he looks average, Usyk boxes circles around him. his power is also underrated, when he sits down on his punches he can do damage and can get his man out of there with ease when he goes for the kill, but he doesn't like risking getting hurt himself so he takes his time and breaks his opponent down slowly and gets them out of there eventually.
Good boxer, boring to watch. Don't think he'll ever to appeal to the networks - due to lack of interest from casual boxing fans. Don't think he'll appeal to the big names in the sport - due to being too high risk.
LOL Latineg falls into the 'not impressed with Usyk" crowd early on. This did not age well....worse than an Egyptian mummy.
Latin is a good dude and his motives were pure unlike many of the blasphemers and reprobates who deserve to be roasted over the coals for their Usyk disrespect and advertising the fact they have PhDs in DKSAB. And to be fair this thread was from 2015 before Usyk had even won his first world title.
I wasn't sold on Usyk until he beat Briedis, which was relatively late into his CW career. I just didn't think he looked all that special on the eye test. After that I tried to study him to see what I was missing, and realised that his primary world class attribute was his adaptability. I don't think there's anything wrong in being sceptical about a fighter provided that scepticism is well-founded, nor is it wrong to admit you were wrong about a fighter and alter your opinion accordingly. A lot of posters on here seem to have a real problem with doing that however, and would rather double down on their initial prejudices. I doubt that's latin though.
