Not sure who deserved it but I was more impressed with Zbik

I dont know who i think should have got the nod but Zbik impressed me more

he i think won more time in the fight

    maybe not rounds but time

he typically won 2 minutes or more of each round but Chavez would come on with a body attack and jsut stun him enough to steal the round

i think except for 11 and maybe 7 Zbik was usually in control and then Chavez would steal the round in the final minute

Zbik could literally hit chavez with the same punch 3 times in a row a cardinal sin in boxing

if Zbik had power he would have got the decision more landed better accuracy just lacked inspiring power though chavez eye did not look too good

chavez has a way to go, Zbik did fight a dumb fight though, he clearly did great outside and his speed prpevailed but he spent too much time in close and let Chavez dig to the body

i also think HBO dropped the ball twice

first by saying Pirog is better than sturm

second by calling Martinez the former champ

i wanted to break my TV

I was surprised @ Zbik's tactics. He clearly was faster than Chavez jr. hence he should have danced around his opponent and used his jabs and combos. In and out, so to speak.

he got carried away on the inside and took some good body shots as the fight dragged on he wanted to be on the outside but the toll was done and he couldnt move like he did early

Zbik at points was on his toes moving but couldnt do it like the early rounds

    close fight

It was clear that after the first 2 rounds, Chavez jr. wanted to negate Zbik's speed by fighting up close and personal. I was waiting for Zbik to adjust and use his jabs and combos and make Chavez jr. chase him. He was getting hurt inside and still didn't make the necessary adjustments until it was too late.

I agree w/ you that Chavez jr. is a work in progress. If he faces a speedy opponent w/ good punching power, he's done for. I'm sure that he's not going to hold on to that belt much longer because Martinez is going to go after that belt.

Zbik is a good champion the problem i saw with him is he made the mistake of letting Chaves jnr tap him with classic mexican body attack.Zbik could have easily BOXED on the outside and frustrate Jnr but he stood in close and that gave Jnr invitation to tenderize his ribs.
