Ok so we have some guys that just standout as being atgs. Without putting TOO much pressure on a new boxer , say instead of saying who's the next pr superstar since Tito Trinidad, why don't we sett the bar lower and cut some slack and ask who's the next Miguel Cotto? Trinidad's shoes are too big, as well as those before him.

At this point it looks like Matias.

Same thing for heavyweight boxing: let's not ask who's gonna be the next iron Mike Tyson, let's set the bar lower and ask who's gonna be the next knockout kid since deontay Wilder.

Some shoes are just impossible to fill. Look at Manny Pacquiao (same thing) he frikkin delayed a fight of his because all due he wanted to watch basketball! He is the air Jordan of boxing... BUT let's just cut some slack and ask perhaps who's the next Nonito Donaire?

See where I'm going with this? Describe fighter (s) who you think will rise from prospects to champions, with a chance at being great, but maybe not another world's finest since Ali/Tyson/ Pacquiao etc. it gets the ball rolling to educate and provide some exposure for the young buck or gal. And please describe:

1 the name of a prospect
2 who they remind you of and who's shoes they will feel
3 your assessment or opinion on this fighter(s)

    Thank you and be safe.

That's still relatively young, it seems like he can go for another decade until he's spent. Guys like sam Solomon, old as dirt on the show the contender, still being the fittest in conditioned fighter with an insane work ethic and awesome discipline. When Dre retired at 37, people were clamouring TOO SOON, what about bivol and Canelo first? I must say though, in the hw division Kirk bubba Johnson stated that the best age for a hw is 30. He was like a year or two into his thirties, just everything culminated for him at that time. Idk, I've seen amateur fighters turned pro around 3o, like mahomed abdullaev, the then thirtysomething year old who was from the 140 pound division about 20 years ago.

Matias' hands down pressure style will age him very quickly, unless he has extraordinary durability which remains to be seen.

Well there is a lot of hype around Curmel Moton. Kid is 17 or so. Won a couple of pro fights already. Strong amateur career. From what I’ve seen he looks good. Ring IQ is amazing for such a young kid. Does remind me a lot of Gervonta Davis. If he continues to develop and get more rounds in against decent opponents, can see him winning a world title at FW/SFW in the next few years.

Zhang, his victories over Joyce hasn't moved the needle that far for me

Sliced bread is overrated on this forum.

I like those loaves where you just tear a hunk off, slap some butter on it and chow down.

Xander Zayas is a young boxer puncher that really reminds me of a young Fernando Vargas before he fought Trinidad. Hopefully, he is able to avoid the out of ring stuff that plagued Vargas and he is moved a little slower. I feel like he will grow into a really solid champion at 154 and 160.
