Jennings doesn't really have a chance, he's solid but nothing but a solid opponent.

But if he did manage to somehow win and we had 2 US heavyweight champions can you imagine the meltdown on this forum. So many clearly pro eastern European posters would have a mental breakdown.

Because there is no guarantee he'd get a shot at Wilder anytime soon. Wilder would likely get one voluntary shot in, then a unification with Wlad would take precedent over defending against Jennings.

Another guy brought this up in a thread here and its very posisble: Imagine Wlad unifies vs. Wilder in Dec 2015, then waits until April 2016 to vacate the WBC belt. Then Wilder would fight e.g. Povetkin in Sept 2016 for a vacant belt with a $250k purse.

    So yes, smart business move.

It will be another Vitali-Briggs, Wilder-Stiverne, Fury-Chisora type of fight where the big guy brutalizes the shorter opponent by keeping the distance with reach advantage and constantly winning points with jabs. Expect a not so late KO. Boring really.

Jennings has had 19 fights in 5 years. He's as inactive inside the ring as he is out of it.

Uncompetitive mismatch. Right up Wlads alley way.

Thought jay was involved with the nets (who play at Barclays). Easier for me as it is one less subway ride

Mark me as another that is glad to see Briggs not get the fight.

I've not been up on Jennings, so I'll have to have a look at some clips of him.

I hope we'll finally see a fully unified champ this year. Chances are MUCH better now that Don King is cut outta the equasion.

    GO, WLAD!!!!!!!
