    Are there any/many boxers who started boxing late? Most you hear of started at a really young age, but I was wondering if any started later and still became successful?

    Depends what you mean by late. Think Nigel Benn started at 18, Hopkins obviously.

    Leonard Dorin Doreftei turned pro when he was 27-28 ended up winning the WBA world lightweight title and later fought in a unification between two undefeated fighters against the IBF world champion Paul Spadafora. Back then it was rumored a talk for a fight against Floyd Mayweather JR, but they didn't had the finances to make the fight happen.
