Words that are usually expressed about Elite, Pro, Athletes that risk their health...although for a good amount of money usually. I find it odd sometimes that Doughnut Boy Dan Raefeal, amongst others {like fans like you and me}, like to call these fighters bitches, cowards, pussies, etc. I like to "note" that the criticism of these elite pros on my part, when I decide to do it, are that of comparing them to others on their level and not to myself who is at home sitting on a computer who would get completely destroyed if I were to step into the boxing ring against, say, Wlad. I know my place. I would like to think that is the given. Now do others realize this as well, like you the fan and sports-writers?
While I agree that a lot of times fans go overboard in their labeling fighters those things, at the end of the day we are the ones who are paying for the PPV fights, paying for ticket prices and paying HBO/SHOWTIME fees to watch these fights. As such we're allowed to voice our displeasure and disgust at the things going on. Whether it's Floyd's insisting on rules that aren't in place for reasons that are suspect, or Manny demanding catch weight fights, or David Haye running his mouth and practically begging for a fight, and then when he gets it he runs away, we have that right to voice our displeasure. And while I personally refrain from using the word "coward" in relation to some, I can understand the frustration from the fans. That said, we can't say "I'd take 50 million to get beat up" because Floyd/Manny aren't in our situations. We'd take a fight for a couple hundred thou and it'd be a lot more than most of us will see anytime soon. These are people who for the most part aren't hurting for cash so they don't need to fight for that money because their immediate situation doesn't demand it. Just my thoughts.
Some people here who ***** about fighters beïng called duckers/chickens etc. always seem to forget the circumstances. Example. High school bully always beats up the kids he knows he can beat up but stays away from the guys who are close to his size/strength and really doesn't even come near the guys who can beat him up. One of the guys who are close to his strenght is getting fed up with him beating up the smaller kids and confronts him. The bully avoids a fight with a bit yelling and pushing and gets away clean. Next day the guy who confronted him doesn't look very well (coming down with the flu or something) the bully sees his chance and beats up the guy. One of the real strong guys of the school sees that and comes after the bully, who runs away shouting and insulting he will get him someday and then doesn't attend school for the next two weeks calling in sick. Conclusion... this bully is a real coward, who only beats up guys who he knows he can beat up and guys who are close to him only as the cards are really stacked in his favour. And will have nothing to do with the real 'big' guys just having a big mouth and running away. There are a few boxers who can be compared to the bully, only they make money with it.
LOL... is that the PBF story with him being the bully, marquez and hatton being the kids, while Mosley being the same size sick bully? LMAO Im gonna use that, its a pretty funny analogy.
**** off, they get paid a **** brick of money for it. Nobody makes them fight, I'll talk all the **** I feel like.
not quite what I'm saying. I'm not saying you can't say it, say it if you like, but as long as you know what their position is in relation to yours if you are of a certain kind...like Danny Boy. you are excused if you fit certain requirements. I just didn't want to make it to long to go through everything. Lots of wholes.
