Unfortunatly I have to agree with you, he's surrounded himself with too much hype and glamour imo. Youve only got to read his book to see how much he's changed, according to the book he would never ever sack Billy Graham for a start

Poor bloke looks like he's wasting away, that few times he's been to the gym this week looks to have taken a lot out of him.

I agree about the "Brand Hatton" thing. Hatton referring to "Ricky Hatton being very down to earth" in every other interview is annoying when you have your own "Brand". And as far as I'm concerned, when you get a programme on Sky One following you and your family around to show how "down to earth" you are - you're not that down to earth.

Yep, shocking isn't it? You think he'd know his place and just run a pub or do a bit of after dinner speaking when he retires.......;O)

Watching the 24/7's no one could possibly deny he is down to earth.

Ok,the talking in the 3rd person about his p4p quest is,was a bit deluded but when you see how he and his family live, he's more 'down to earth' than any other famous, multi millionare I can think of.

There was another program on Sky One called At home with the Hattons.People aren't stupid. If Hatton is down to earth(which he really isn't)then people will see him that way. They will see him that way whether he keeps reminding us or not.

I wouldn't say it was "aimed" but it was in reply to your post. The point I was trying to make was that most people like casual sports fans, Sky One viewers (where the program was aired) etc probably do think he's a "down to Earth guy".

Outide of wanting to be well paid for fighting, setting up financial interests for after he retires and the dreaded third person speaking theres not a lot of evidence to say he isn't just a decent bloke who's done well for himself.
