Calzaghe could have very well have been a difficult fight for Roy a few years back. Calzaghe is a fighter who can fight different styles, he adapts very well. Look at Roy's fights wie Griffin (the 1st off course:hi: ) and his fight with Harding. He didnt embarass anything in this two fights. Roy was an exceptional fighter and he may have played around with Calzaghe, but another scenario is not out of question imho. Roy himself said Tarver may have troubled him with his style in his prime also. When Roy felt comfortable, he could do his superman thing, but there were those few fights where he couldnt, and i think Calzaghe may have been clever enough to put up a strategy to make this a very close fight. I also think Roy has his chances now. Reflexes gone, footwork gone, doesnt look to good, but he kinda adapted his style to his "new" limitations. And his devastating losses, especially vs Johnson had a lot to do with Roy having absolutely zero motivation. If he comes into the ring motivated nov8 and with heart (not with this shitty "i dont want to get ko'd" attidude like in the 3rd Tarver fight) i think he has a chance even when we wont see the "old Roy". Well, we will see the old Roy, but not the old Roy:hi:
To do that question justice, I would have to dedicate about half an hour of my life to the response. I will post this at a later date - closer to fight night.
Most bookies are offering Jones at 5/2 now and he's drifting... Closer to the time, he'll be more like 3/1 I reckon.
As i stated, i dont see Roy beeing without chances, but im not so confident i would make a bet with real money. Maybe i will put some vcash on him
