He didnt blame it on pac, if you watch the video on skysports he said perhaps it was not good to have 2 training camp over in philippines and the states and too long training due to peterson bout which fell through.

There's some truth to what Khan is saying.
Let's be honest he doesn't need to travel all over the world to go and train,why go to the Philipines? Khan needs someone who's there for him full time not a part-time trainer like Roach. We all saw how Khan had to be trained by a novice and he was getting hammered in sparring. Adjustments could have been made quickly if Khan's trainer was always there,sadly Roach was with Chavez while Khan was getting beat up in the gym.

Freddie has also said it before, if asked to choose between Khan and Pacquiao he will choose Pacquiao, there's divided loyalty right there. Also Roach would rather be in Chavez's corner than Amir.
If that was not enough, Roach is not the best trainer for Khan. Khan needs someone who can teach him to defend because he has too many weaknesses. With Khan's style he's better off with a trainer like Floyd Mayweather Sr or someone with a hit and move style not Roach.

 

How many training sessions does it take to be told and shown how to not leave your chin exposed, especially if you cant take a punch.

He must have visited there before he fought Prescott and Limond aswell.

 

Roach did help khan to improve a lot actually, khan's best asset is his speed so therefore we all know he should box and move. He was just caught by a big shot really. I agree perhaps roach's time is up with him, he should urgently seek the help of adam booth to improve skills and make less mistakes. Booth is the guy who can help khan back to the top and I think khan will be intelligent enough team up with booth.

It helps to be away from home no doubt but in Los Angeles not in the Philipines because the power dynamics change and Roach's availability changes. Obviously when Sky asked Khan first time they knew this arrangement was not right and he was just trying to diffuse the tension. We all know that ever since Roach started training Manny in the Philipines the team started disintergrating. Ariza beat up the other dude, Manny and Khan stopped sparring or even talking which means things were said in camp. Manny was even supposed to come for Amir's fight in London he didn't turn up or apologise for that, there's tension in there. Even Chavez has objected to training in the Philipines.Obviously Manny who has such a big ego wants to show everyone he's the man and who can blame him?

 

I dont think he was blaming, I think he said it's perhap not good for him to have 2 camps and doing the travelling and also too long training due to the other fight fell through. Had he had won the fight then of course the 2 camps were great. He accepted defeat so are just saying he needs to change a few things next time.

 

Roach is an offensive minded fighter but not a boxing teacher. Khan has very little boxing I.Q and he really doesn't think. He just listens to what Roach has to say and if it doesn't work Khan won't change a thing. Whether this is because Roach struggles to talk I do not know but usually a good boxing coach is one who can talk during training and impart information & knowledge.

You've seen all fighters even Peterson, they think and they can change during a round because they are well schooled fighters. Look at Andre Ward,Mayweather,if one style is not working they do not wait for the bell to ring so they get instructions, they are educated fighters.They know how to slow down the pace,what to do when they get hurt,what to do when they are on the ropes or in a corner,how to block wide shots and how to block uppercuts.Khan does not know all these things and to be fair he's lucky he's fighting at 140lbs now because imagine if he had been at 147lbs when the likes of Mosley,DelaHoya and even Zab were prime fighters?

Roach is not really good neither is he versatile.He trains people one way and that's it.This is the reason why Manny will have problems with Marquez because Roach doesn't know anything different.What Khan leant the first time he hooked up with Roach is all he knows,what people think is improvement is just careful match making.

 

Khan needs to go with Nazim richardson, he would be the main man in camp and keep khan grounded.

The fact that Nazim is a good strategist helps alot.
