Johnson fought the same way Byrd did against Vitali. Open glove defense, shell, ducking low with only the back of the head and back exposed.
I've heard a lot of talk about Vitali getting tired and quitting because of it so I think this fight lays that theory to rest. A 38 year old Vitali looked tired from the beggining but he got more active as the fight wore on with the 12 round being his busiest.
