Some parts of this i agree with. I think that Amsterdam you may be under rating the intangibles of Margarito personally.

Cotto may very well win a one sided match up (i have picked so in my detailed analysis) yet that doesn't really detract from the win IMO.

We've talked about potential reaction for a Cotto victory, talked about reaction to Pac's recent victory.

What was the reaction to Gamboas recent win???

I want to know if the boards are being consistent here. I imagine that everyone would have been all over it, despite some obvious flaws in the opponent and his preperation.

I disagree. I think Berto will prove to be an elite level fighter. Only time will tell.

I love how all of the
margo lovers say Cotto will end up fighting with Margo. They can only hope for that only because they know their guy is limited. They should know Cotto is smarter than that and might just cruise through margo like its nothing.

    He ain't. They are = in-fighter's, = in Pressure
With Cotto having the edge in speed & side to side movement.
It's not Cotto's game to grab and smother.
And tell me when you have seen Margarito forced to fight going backwards agaisnt a small fighter?

    We will see tommorow bro.
That's what makes this fight great. "It's a FIGHT"

The reaction to Pac-Diaz was too much, way too much. This will be even worse for Cotto, they even wanted to move Cotto up P4P for dominating Gomez so easily...:huh

Nobody flipped over anything Gamboa has done, other than get impressed and talk about it in realistic form.

Many of these dumbasses here would pick Marg by KO over a prime Mayorga, it's madness.

Maybe, but what you say is almost the same thing.
If... You don't know Cotto if you think he will avoid toe to toe
action at some point n this fight.

As a matter of fact, it will be brought to him.
    he will have no choice.

Fair enough, i thought it would have been different. It was a very impressive KO.

I think Pac-Diaz was too much, but then again so is every victory on ESB. People always get over rated in the first couple weeks. Pac-Diaz and Cotto-Gomez was merely top level fighters doing what they were supposed to do IMO.

You can level exactly the same arguments against Cotto. His two best wins came against two very shopworn fighters who had seen better days. What ELITES has Cotto fought and beat that make him elite?

The difference between you and I is that I acknowledge Margarito's flaws but you vastly underestimate his strengths. History is paved with the tombstones of 'cute' boxers who got creamed by tough fighters who possessed little more than a solid chin and good old fashioned blunt trauma.

To say that he is a B-level fighter is just plain flat out wrong.

Who cares if Cotto has to "fight"?

I expect he'll box as a primary gameplan as it will make life a lot easier, but if it comes down to it he'll beat Margarito's ass in a fight too. He's simply a better, faster, and more accurate puncher with just the same power, which will make all the difference. Size isn't going to matter when you don't use it to your advantage, boxing skill matters.

It will probably be competetive, but Margarito will be outclassed, and in every exchange you will see a major difference in precision and accuracy.
You will see tomorrow night.. but I won't be going ape**** because I called it right  :good

It will be a very pleasant fight to watch nonetheless :happy
Hopefully Margarito can pursue his dreams and get a win against the winner of Zab/Clottey :yep

Nothing much bar a few 'Gamboa is a future ATG!' threads.
