Now boxing is on some B*****t!!! Juanma suspended!!!!

  1. Or Chavez Sr going off on Richard Steel..

I guess he implied something rather serious and the Ref put pressure on commission to reprimand him or else. Lawsuit for defamation etc..

I agree, maybe suspension is not the answer, but really, he needs to be taught a lesson about doing this sort of thing, it makes him look like a sore loser and it can open him up for lawsuits.

That ref could sue for defamation, like another member of the boxing fraternity is doing now....

  3. I think JuanMa needs to learn to lose better. He fought his ass off and should have just taken the L.

Yes, he is only banned from WBO title fights and WBO rankings.

Significantly worse in a about every imaginable way. Don King stuck his foot in it by calling Arreola a ******* and Arreola essentially told him to go **** himself.

Lopez called the Referee, and his son who is also a ref, corrupt and claimed they fixed the fight. signficiantly different due to the fact that both guys work in the field where their impartial discretion is mandated above all else. Now should he have been suspended, probably not but to say that his comments and Arreola's comments are the same? That's just wrong.

stupid...as is interviewing a guy directly after being stopped, and having a family member of a ref whom one boxer accused of this ref for him again

Lopez is an idiot for what he said but to be fair to him he had just been beaten to a pulp. Give him a big fine but a suspension is bull**** considering Margo only got a year for loading up, tyson a year for biting chunks out of both of Holyfields ears, Ortiz absolutely nothing for attempting a flying headbutt chris benoit would have been proud of on Mayweather Jnr.

These are just some recent examples form high profile fights, there are many many more. boxing really could do with one world governing body (a real one) instead of having a load of sanctioning bodies running it to their agenda or making rules up on the spot.

Lopez got suspended by the WBO not the Commission. He can't fight for their belts.

Plus lopez probably thought he was ok to coninue at the time and was pissed off the ref didn't let him. Having taken a look back and seen how his legs were gone he probably felt like a complete moron once he gathered his senses back.

Right or wrong I'm not going to judge a boxer for thinking their are corrupt officials in this day and age when there is terrible decisions every other week. hell the three other officials at ringside that very night were about to pull some ****.

Yeah I know but its still causing controversy just for the hell of it. Maybes not so much in this case but its practically pointless and makes the sport look bad when a boxer is suspended by one body just to go and win a title for another one a couple of months later (which could perceivably happen).
