Calzaghe is not Number 1 P4P based on his fight with a 43 year old Hopkins when he was exposed and taken to school by the old man.

 

He outclassed that cheating fraud, you don't win a fight faking low blows and excessively holding.

 

Calzaghe may be lower than #2, but it sure as hell isn't below Manny.

 

Is there any need for that? Why does every discussion on this board turn into "he's a fraud" or "exposed..." or "overated bum" etc.:roll:

Personally I place Pacman above Joe because he has faced consistently better competition & has moved up through the weight classes. Although I'm not the biggest fan of this division hopping fad I find it difficult to make a case for Joe being better p4p than Manny based on wins against Lacy, Kessler & Hopkins.

He didn't come to fight or win, he just cheated by holding excessively, fouling and faking low blows.

Joe Is the better boxer than Manny, Manny did not win either Marquez fights which were disgusting decisions. He was easily counter punched In the 2nd Marquez fight and the score should of been a wider one for JMM.

Recycling on Mexicans who want a payday doesn't make you a p4p fighter either.

He deserves a character assasination does he? You're starting to sound a bit like Kurt mate but with none of the humour. Every post of yours recently seems to be brimming with venom. Are you bitter about something?

Anyway, in that case neither of them deserve to be number one. The position should remain vacant pending each mans next fight.

I wouldn't say he easily counter punched Pac, nor would I say they were disgusting decisions.

I think on most peoples card, whoever you had winning round 1 won the fight.

 

A man with Hopkins' record and achievements isn't a "fraud", against Calzaghe he simply fought the fight he had to with the skills and tools he had left. To even compete at that level at 43 years old deserves a little bit of recognition.

It will all be academic soon enough though, fellow Calzaghe fans. When JC whoops Pavlik and Pac man inevitably loses to someone at 135, Calzaghe will finally be p4p#1

 

That Pac and JC are fighting for top spot makes me want to puke... Calzaghe throws a lot of his punches incorrectly and is unexciting..... Pac man is technically garbage... For me Cotto is head and shoulders above anyone else followed by Juan 'I lost my last fight' Diaz. Lets hope we get some class back into the p4p's and quick because its staring to look like the heavyweight divison top ten.

 

P4P rankings are a joke anyway, just a bit of fun for boxing fans to kill time.

 

Or a way to look at the general talent of that era? :-(
