Just thought I would make a thread to put down how excited you are about this fight. Not predictions, but just what you like about the fighters, and favourite memories of their fights. Personally I am like a kid at christmas. Cotto is by FAR my favourite fighter in boxing, and being his biggest test, against a great opponent I know it is going to be awesome. Positive thread here guys, no haters, for both fighters.

I am hoping that parts of this turn out like Hoya v Mosley. Looking at the styles there is a very good possibility. Both guys are true champions, both warriors who will go for the knockout. Despite the punching power and the aggression of Cotto, I have trouble seeing Mosley getting stopped. Just too tough, too cagey. Same for Cotto. People mention his shakey chin, but you have to look at the heart he posseses, and clearly he has an abundance. You will dead set have to knock Cotto out COLD to stop him, because otherwise he will just keep fighting. The combinations from both sides are going to be thick and fast. Full power shots from Cotto. Quick explosive counters from Mosley.

Sugar Shane Mosley is an established great fighter and a future hall of famer. He has fought everybody and is always willing to take risks. His style in fast paced and fan friendly. A true fighter.

Miguel Cotto is the young champion looking to reach greatness. He is facing the first great fighter of his career in a fight that can elevate himself closer to greatness. Blessed with a huge heart, ferocious style, and ring intelligence, Cotto is a true fighter and tough to beat.

This should be a hell of a fight - and the fans will get their money's worth. I can't wait.

    Im pumped for this fight!!

I can't see this fight being boring at all and Ive got heaps of respect for both guys, they are what boxing is all about.

Cotto gets in some awesome fights and is one of the most exciting boxers going, and Mosley has been in some epic encounters so this is going to be a riot.

I'm SO excited about this fight, can't really describe it. Mosley only brings us the toughest fights out there, when was the last time we had a fight that's so difficult to predict?
Also, I must admit I'm a bit nervous since this won't be easy for either fighter, but I'll be rooting for Mosley and REALLY hope he wins.

My favourite memory of Shane is watching him vs Shannon Taylor. Taylor was undefeated, and a very good prospect before this defeat and turning to drugs. Yet Shane totally outclassed him. The right hand in the first round almost knocked out Taylor then and there. Mosley is so explosive, and can mix his power so well. Bait you with range finding jabs, and then BANG hammer you with the right hand full force. The head movement, the angles, the power, the speed. This fight to me was Mosley during his best years. Taylor never really recovered from this loss. After getting hooked on coke, he was never the same fighter, and a lot of the general public probably don't realise just how good a performance it was that Shane put on that night.

This is one of those fights where it will be sad in a way to see either fighter lose. Both such great fighters, both very respectful and good for boxing. A win for Mosley DEFINES his legacy, and win for Cotto sets up a showdown with Mayweather and a shot at becoming one of the greats.

Its unreal. Not only do we get a fantastic main event, but the best under card all year. Couldn't be better.

My favorite Shane Mosley moment is during the 12th round in his first fight with Oscar De La Hoya. He let it all hang out and stood toe to toe. He wanted that title more and it showed.

My favorite Miguel Cotto moment, which might be a little sadistic but oh well, is when he absolutely brutalized Carlos Quintana during the 5th round (in a fight I picked Quintana to win by UD). Quintana became a beaten man in just 3 minutes and Cotto captured the WBA 147 title.

Two of my favourites also. The Quintana fight was unreal. Cotto really showed he had matured as a fighter at 147. The Sosa fight was also a favourite. To knock him out emphatically was very impressive, but to do so that quickly was unbelievable. When Big George yelled out that he was the number one contender in the world, it basically to me said that YES, there are a lot of prospects out there, but Cotto is the REAL DEAL.

Cotto displayed great boxing skills and counterpunching ability in the Sosa fight. He looked so relaxed in there and so poised, but at the same time, he was an animal.

Not only do I find the outcome of this fight hard to predict I find it hard to take sides when choosing who I want to win.

Im going for Cotto on both counts, I will be pleased if he wins and sorry for Mosley. Hmmm, I can't believe I cannot wait to spend $50 to be so conflicted. Only in boxing.

    A true Scorpio.:yep:good

My favorite mosley moment was, like you say the 12th round of Mosley/DLH fight. It was something else to watch.

My favorite moment for Cotto was his fight against Sosa - the whole fight.

Can't wait for this fight,it'll be good no matter which way you slice it. Both men will be coming forward the whole night.

I didn't think you lounge lizards actually watched boxing, yet alone formed intelligent opinions regarding fights. Congrats :)
