I remember someting about contracts and being committed for a certain period of time. Hopefully Selby isn't tied in too much longer. He's already 24 and too good to be arsing about with this for much longer
Now his brother lee has gone to Eddie Hearn I expect Eddie will do I his famous "big announcement this week" tweets. Sooner the better!
Definitely. He may still feel he's young at 24 and different people peak at different ages. But he really should be looking to get himself up and running n the paid ranks asap. And as you say his brother has already paved the way for the Matchroom red carpet to be rolled out
Selby is a reflex fighter and should probably turn over asap, has to be fast tracked as his last few fights have been more than the equivalent of most pro's first 10 or so. Ready for a British title within 10 fights easy, great talent. I think we are all unsure about F Evans, turning pro and starting from scratch gotta be the best thing, has a pro style. The rest should stay to make the nucleus of next years WSB uk team.
Debatable, from what ive seen of him he's strictly a single shot counter punch merchant, suited to points scoring in the ameturs. He fought a good Ukrainian guy a while back in the wsb, got stopped in three rounds, looked like he had no answer for intense pressure. Still he's a young guy, so he's got time on his side if he's going to go about correcting his flaws in the pro's. He's got talent.
I tend to agree with you here. He is very gifted, possessing great hand speed, power and reflexes but he seems to lack confidence and switches off all the time. Yeah he got beat bad by the Ukrainian but he was fighting above his natural weight in wsb. Hopefully he turns pro now as I'm not sure staying amateur will help develop any further.
