A fun fact I learned yesterday: You can get a concussion from a body shot...the transfer of the impact (and I don't mean from falling and your head hitting anything). So, a concussion doesn't necessarily need to be a blow to the head to happen.

    Never knew that before.

from my experience ive never been hurt to the body. but i was once hurt by a left hook to the jaw. my body shut down. all i could do was lay on the ropes and keep my hands up.i survived it and got the best of him but my that shot hirt like hell.

Ive never been down yet in the ring but then again ive only sparred (usually against guys bigger than me cos its hard to find a guy my size in my gym) and ive been hit with some pretty hard shots to the head and took them smiling. body shots never seemed to faze me but when you hit it hard enough or enough times in the right places it gets to you and then any punch after that will pretty much break you

By the way, have any of you ever actually been dropped before in sparring or in a fight.
I never have and I actually have never seen anyone dropped in sparring. Only in actual boxing fights have I seen that and believe me I have seen big some KO's in the ring, only with adults though.
The younger the fighters are the less power and way more likely to go to a decision from what I've seen at boxing shows.
I wonder what it feels like to have your legs go wobbly from a punch and fall to the ground.
