Now I see Why Fighters don't want to leave their home country

This is a major problem, agreed.

I think you have to consider this when you criticize people for sitting out in their back garden. If you leave your home country you want to know you are going to be treated fairly, and this does not seem to be the case in a lot of instances.

For example, Felix Sturm went over to the US and got jobbed. Now it is a case of once bitten twice shy. Of course it works in reverse that he could possibly be the beneficiary of hometown cooking in Germany.

Overall I think this is one of the main obstacles in matchmaking and getting the fights we want.

 

:yep Yep...and it doesn't seem that the "known" judges necessarily help either. Seems that promoters have influence on them in some way for sure. It certainly seems in a lot of cases that atleast one of the 3 is in the pocket of main promoters fighter. This is when we see the ridiculous SD's ALL the time. 2 judges will be similiar and near on page, while the 3rd will be all out for the other fighter, not chosen by the other 2. Coincidence? Maybe...maybe not.

One example for me is Christian Mijares, he would on a couple of occasions have scores reading 117-111, 116-112, 108-120....WTF?!


Another example that bothers me is Julie Ledderman on HBO cards....with her daddy having his long time job of being the unofficial scorer for HBO, now tell me she's not in line with who HBO wants to win....Bull hockey too.

 

Boxing is unfortunately full of curruption and greed. It is all about the money no matter what country your from. A clear KO ends all that, but a fine boxer as one poster mentioned in Mijares could box your ears off and scoring comes in shady. Well, this been going on before alot of us were even born. At least the fans always knows who really won, not by these sometimes bogus judging.

Beenie, for this fight a 13th round would be horrible under the circumstances of the judging. Rocky started to pick-up at the end. Think about it, a draw + a good 13th round. And new champion, Rocky Suarez. Wrong. Poor scoring for this fight anyway, but I would not go against a 13th round if it was being suggested in the future.

 

what about Calzhagi vs Hopkins? alot us had Hopkins down as the winner but the judges picked Calzhagi. Well 2 out of the three.

 

Could have gone either way,that is the definition of that fight.Plus it was a SD.Plus it's very hard to give a fight to a guy who only lands one right hand at a time when Calzaghe adapted and was throwing accurate and many punches.
