Now I understand why Chad Dawson will not fight Adrian Diaconu

Chad has no problem fighting Diaconu. They were already supposed to fight when Diaconu pulled out. Yeah, Chad petitioned the WBC to allow him to fight Johnson instead of Diaconu, and he did drop his belt to fight Tarver. However, he had good reason for doing so. Showtime has been trying to match Dawson with Tarver for some time now. Tarver balked; claimed Dawson needed to beat a worthy fighter. The Johnson fight was made in order to lure Tarver into a fight. After Chad looked less than stellar against Johnson, Tarver was all about fighting Dawson. No American fighter in their right mind is going to go to Romania to fight a hometown fighter in a Non U.S televised fight when they can fight a title fight for similar money on a major network.

Did anyone notice that team Diaconu didn't object at all to Dawson dropping his belt to fight Tarver? I wonder why? Diaconu certainly has the power to hurt Dawson, but if he's unable to really hurt Dawson he has no plan B. He's much smaller and slower than Dawson. His stamina is a question mark as well. I'm pretty sure if Diaconu hadn't pulled out of that fight, he would've gotten worked over and this would be a non issue.

I beg a differ,team Diaconu wasn't pleased at all when Dawson dropped the belt.Gankor Promotions main man Chris Ganescu said he lost all respect for team Dawson and especially Gary Shaw.

im sorry i cant see where he anything like taylor. taylor does not have his speed nor offensive skills. chad has some of the best combination attacks ive seen. yea i think dawson has to stop giving up rounds and can still work on his defense but mustafa is doing a great job with that. dawson had kept his hand up more in this fight than johnsons.but do let me ask u a question casue no matter what are profession is where all after more money.if u was in dawson shoes why would fight tarver over diacono?? for more money and fame.hell i would.

Well I can tell you that he would have made over a million for Diaconu.

 

He made about the same against Tarver. The purses were very similar.
