I didn't say Diaconu doesn't have a chance,he has more than a puncher's chance but Dawson would be favorite.I don't know but Henry is a good up and comer and would give Tarver who is shot trouble but don't think he beats Glen

I'm just saying what happened.Nothing more. And what pissed mo off is that he even wasted Diaconu's time with the purse bid in june.If he knew he wouldn't take the fight then why do a purse bid? That wasted Diaconu's time cuz they had to do another purse bid for Branco etc,it wasted about a month. And just curious what did Dawson have to say about this?He never mentiones Diaconu?

The only thing that I ever read that Dawson said was he tried to make the fight, and that Dianconu pulled out. Dawson also said how could he be ducking this guy(Dianconu) and he hasn't fought anyone. Shaw was the one belittling Dianconu saying that he won't let a nobody dictate when and where they should fight. Shaw said as soon as Dianconu beats someone with a name, or respectable to the public, he will make the fight.

Yawn. Dawson WAS going to fight the Shark and DIACONU pulled out. Not his fault he had bigger fish to fry.

He still might end up fighting Diaconu anyway. I just don't see how too many big money fights could be made for Dawson, since I can't picture Calzaghe or Hopkins touching him with a 10-foot pole.

Enough with that excuse. That was over a year ago. You're telling me Dawson couldn't find time to fight Diaconu in the last year? He only had two fights in the last 13-14 months.

From what you saw last night you still think Diaconu is going to win?

Dawson failed to mention his trip in Mexicao, that he said he would fight him 3 times but didn't etc.And good ol' Gary Shaw:tired ,he is the most trust worthy man alive.

There's always an illness isn't there? I've never heard that one before. Guy gets a title fight in his own country against a fighter nobody's ever heard of and he has to eke out a decision win? Maybe Henry is a solid fighter. Maybe he'll go on to prove that Diaconu's win over him isn't something to sneeze at. At this point it's all speculation. All I know is that in proportion to the hype that Diaconu was getting on this board following the Hoye KO and the Dawson fight that fell through, Diaconu did not perform at the level that he should have against Henry and that's all there is to it. Let him beat Branco and then we'll talk.

He was ill man,the stamina issue was accentuated by that I believe,he had a 11 month layoff, overtrained, his father was on the well death bed,all those affected him.And I'm sure even if he looks good vs Branco that people will say Branco is old and shot and couldn't pull the trigger.Maybe you know more about Branco it seems but the rest.....

    I agree, sean!

Dawson fought a very good fight indeed, against Tarver. It was a very impressive performance. I thought Tarver was B level and Dawson was maybe even A-, the other night.

I also agree Dawson would beat Diaconu and that it would very much be Dawson's fight to lose, if he made a mistake.

But would you agree with me that Diaconu would probably have a higher chance of beating Dawson than Tarver had, the other night?

Its pretty pathetic with all this Dawson is ducking Diaconu BS. Dawson has worked his ass off I repeat ass off to get where he is at he had to deal with fighting bums and taxi drivers (Just like every nobody or prizefighter should) to finally get his shot against Adamek and he took advantage of it in what was a flawless victory (outside of the flash KO). He then moves on to fight Glen Johnson in a fight in which he won a close decision, I admit to this day I thought Glen Johnson got the nod but the fight really could have went either way. Some morons feel that just because you win a close decision over glen johnson, who is a man that nobody at 175 is thrilled to get in the ring with the fighters isn't that good go figure. He then moves on to his next test against Tarver (a fighter I happen to dislike), a man who is a good boxer, defender with a good chin (those three traits make one hell of a boxer) and yes I understand he is past his prime a bit and looks great against him.

I would also like to say in terms of this Dawson has a shaky chin BS so what each time he did get KD (and for the record its usually flash KD's, not a KD in which he was hurt) He got up and won. Other Great/Good fighters had this same problem some point in their careers with shaky chins suck as cotto, lewis, marquez wlad, etc and they are just fine. Dawson now is looking toward bigger and better things such as Calzaghe (who he recently mentionied he would like to fight) yet there will still be people saying he is ducking Diaconu beacause he is fighting not only a top 5 opponent at 175 but top 5 p4p fighter at the moment.
