    It's working goddamnit!

Few weeks of deserving rest, holidays, beers, that's okay. But IMO there are clear signs that this new chapter of Hatton's career is going to the right direction. Ricky is learning new things inside the ring, maybe he should stay dedicated outside of it as well. A few beers here and there is OK I guess, he'll never stop drinking anyway, and who am I to ask him anything, I love beer just as much as he does .

But returning to Mayweather's gym as early as January 2009 can only do him good. No diet or hard work needed, just another few weeks of practicing and adapting to the new trainer and new tricks, staying away from the usual bars and drinink parties, taking some fresh air. A small sacrifice for the sake of his success in the last few years. Then he can go Duran or Hamed himself up.

Or what do you think? Does Hatton to Fatton, Fatton to Hatton is the absurd but working way of Ricky's success? :think

It's up to him but I would like to see him not have such a long rest and get back in the gym earlier to brush up on as much as he can but he's always done it that way. It gets him motivated, always comes in, in shape and mostly gets it right on fight night so I can't see him changing.

    I agree 100%!

As I wrote in another thread about whether or not Hatton looks to have improved under Sr:

Hatton looked better in many respects, but he's proven that he's still open to getting popped when he comes in. That's something he needs fixed if he wants to challenge the harder-hitting elites.

Now comes Floyd Sr.'s biggest test yet. Can he keep Ricky in good enough post-fight shape so that they can spend next training camp focused on moves, style and strategies rather than simply burning off beer fat to make 140? Now is time for Floyd to shine.

That's hard on the body. If he wants to fight longer at a high level he should quit all that stuff, but I'm sure he won't. Without that period of relaxition maybe he gets burned out.

Hatton wont stay in shape. He will blow up to 170 pounds in between fights and drastically lose 40 pounds just before he fights Pacman - and lose.

he's disciplined in training camp, and as long as they're not all hard gruelling fights, he would be better of fighting 3 times a year instead of 2, which would keep him in shape.

I predicted Paulie would UD Hatton as well, nothing wrong with that, with out Sr it would have happend. Ricky showed alot of poise in the fight last night, and honestly he came out looking fresh like he was rarely hit, something that would have never happend IMO with out Sr.

Ouch! You got me. :D But this time Hatton loses to Pac. I'm 100% certain this will happen.

If he can keep the blowing up to 15 instead of 30 to 40 pounds it's a win already. I think being trained by Sr. is just what he needs, a change of wind. He has new stuff to learn, in the post fight interview it sounded like he couldn't wait to get back into the gym again. After a few drunk binges that is :D
