Kessler just stated in a Danish newspaper (www.borsen.dk) that he wants to fight Froch once he has fought his next mandatory against... Never mind who he is... But he talks as if he's ready to fight any time soon, and is indeed training full time. Of course, this may be a ploy for the legal battle going on by making it look like Kessler is confident he will win in court, and isn't worried about what Palle will think of.
Could someone summarize the situation? I hope froch and kessler fight it will solidify one of the two boxers!!!!
well then you are a clown.....Kessler will be back very soon.... i think august and then he will propably be free of palle..... and then he will start his regime to the top 10 p4p..... kessler is far from retired... he is in top condition and ready to fight on relativeliy short notice.... the thing is that kessler is not alone in his riot with palle.... and therefore there is a good chance he can fight very soon you are talking about the super middle weight king
It's a sad state of affairs for Kessler, it's never nice to see a fighter held back due to a scumbag promoter. All that being said, some people are ****ing delusional about the guy. he won 4 rounds against Calzaghe and because of that he features in a lot of peoples 10-15 P4P. Robin Reid took more rounds from Joe yet he was never mentioned as a truly elite fighter. It seems to me that a lot of Calzaghe fanboys are desperate for Kessler to make more of his career so as to boost Joes poor resume.
OK Kesslers manager has been screwing around for the past year and a half (and getting screwed by Mirandas "management" that consists exclusively of an answering machine saying that everyone is ducking him) saying no to fights with Glen Johnson and Chad Dawson bc of low offers being made to him by HBO (it's more profitable for him to make fights at home). Now it turns out that his manager (who is the daughter of his promoter!) hasn't been actring in his best interest by not securing him a cut of the TV-money for the Calzaghe fight. She seems to be more interested in helping her father than her boxer. He thus requested the management contract terminated, but then was told that Palle had been given an option on Kesslers next three fights. Now Palle is saying that the Haussler fight didn't count bc he deliberately lost the purse bid, and the fight with Mads Larsen (that Kessler wanted none of since Larsen is nobody outside Denmark) which Palle botched negotiations for after wasting ages of time for Kessler doesn't count either. He's probably going to dodge out of god knows how many small fights anyway so he can make sure he only gets the rights to the big fights forthwith and somehow make sure Kessler can't get anyone else to do the other fights anyway. So that's mainly what it's about - and Palle is dragging Kessler to court to get his "3" fights (which by his own reckoning will end up being 6-7 if I know Palle right). Until then, no Kessler fights.:tired
Everyone wants Froch: Bute, Hopkins, Miranda, Kessler. What does it say about Froch? I mean he's a good risk/reward ratio...
Because everyone wants to make as much money as possible and right now there's no bigger fight for these guys than Froch. I for one think the current version of Taylor that Froch beat is certainly a class above Bute and Kessler and Miranda for one. Taylor beats all three of them and so does Froch... Hopkins is an altogether different story.
