I'll should remain "Open" until the end of the year...
the fog should clear and a NEW P4P #1 will emerge, alot of fight's still pending.

PAC if he defeats diaz. Cotto if he beats Margo. Joe if he beats Pavlik. Its too early.

When Calzaghe fought Kessler and Lacy, two guys who were meant to beat him up, he was the older man considerably and a veteran by 2005, whereas pacquiao was the younger fresher guy against Morales and Barrera...it is close and basically down to a split of opinion.

No way can Cotto be p4p number one in the world....he has not done enough yet.....Malignaggi is nothing special....was in a brutal fight with Torres and won a close shave against an old veteran in Mosley....

In time Cotto has an obvious claim to the best cos Manny and Joe arent getting younger

No argument here. Pac was 2 before Floyd retired so naturally he is now #1. Both Joe & Pac struggled in their last outings, difference is Pac was fighting a guy fresh for 12 rounds, Joe was ifghting a guy fresh for 6.

Joe's a veteran himself though and was fighting on foreign soil against the ultimate spoiler....Pac is in more easy on the eye tear ups and has the names so he can easily be called #1

The talk of Cotto is very premature though....give the guy some time!!!

Hopkins, Lacy, Kessler, Eubank, Reid, Woodhall, Sheika, Brewer, Mitchell and Veit are good enough for me!!!

Plus he's not in the lower divisions where going up and down in weight classes is easier in order to get super fights and fight the huge names!!!

I don't buy this if Cotto beats Margarito he's the best in the world crapola...his wins against Paulie and Sugar Shane were better and they didn't put him in the top 5

ATGs that were veterans and still gave him hell and one stage or another

Who's the better boxer??? I gave Manny the resume but I was pointing out that Calzaghe hasn't fought 44 tomato cans himself.....
