No you're right he should fight a 40year old past prime former superstar instead?!?!

Or maybe re-match someone he already made look like sh*t?!?!

Or maybe someone that has just been beaten by someone else not in PBF league?!?!?

There are not huge credible pickings outside Pac. Ortiz has a large following, has come off a very good win and is still improving. Good fight.

Victor ortiz has been a dominant force and yes he got his shots in against maidana. He just wasnt ready for a beast like maidana... Victor has showed that he packs a punch at 147 and he has also showed that he has found his heart! Im looking foward to september!

When Mosley was selected as an opponent: He should be fighting Marquez who "beat" him twice.

Now he selects Marquez: He should fight Ortiz.

    What hate?
I was praising Ortiz during his comeback fights after Maidana while people where trashing him.
But at the same time I am not one of those people that suddenly crowned Ortiz as a beast because he beat Berto, considering I always thought Berto had it easy competition level wise.

So one win moves you from heartless HBO hype job to WW Beast?
I am not criticizing Ortiz. I think you are confused. I am criticizing the hyperbole swing - from hype job to a beast and the convenience of the timing.
Where were you during the LaMont, Harris and Campbell fight?

I am probably more of an Ortiz fan than some of the people that is RECENTLY crowning him the greatest thing in WW since Berto :/

    Agreed.
Ortiz has floored every fighter in his last seven or eight bouts.
He has always been a threat to every fighter but many were questioning his heart and he proved them all wrong.
Who at welterweight is better then Ortiz ? Of course Mayweather and Pacquiao being the exceptions.

Currently today there is nobody at welter that is better than Ortiz right now... if Ortiz did not make this move up we may see Berto vs Mayweather which Floyd would have gotten **** on for taking that fight its a lose lose for Floyd when it comes to the *******s.
However I think Floyd should fight Ortiz and Collazo back to back before the Pacquiao fight, so that he gets used to both soutpaws with power and southpaws with speed and a high work rate....

I agree with the turn around of opinions at Ortiz. Before beating hypejob Berto he was seen as a glass hearted, glass chinned quiter who was just another hypejob.

Now he is fighting Floyd he is a legit threat, the same goes for if he was facing Pac.

Not dissing the match up, cos it will be exciting, but the ESB way of drastic changes in a fighters limits and capabilities is a ****ing joke.

Ortiz took maindana lightly and struggling to make weight. As for Petterson he is a good fighter.

Someone needs to mass-bump threads to show how everyone considered Ortiz barely Top-10 at JWW, nevermind what they thought before the Berto fight at WW.

    I don't get it either.

I don't get it either. I wasn't as low as everyone else on Ortiz after Maidana beat him and I'm not as high on him after his win over Berto.

Boxing fans who completely go from from one end to the other after every fight don't really understand boxing.

And you honestly believe Ortiz Floyd will happen this September? Let's see, media blitz and initial promotion at least 3 locations plus 8 weeks of training. Would three months be enough? ****ing NO! This fight if it ever happens will be made around late october the earliest. Floyd has a court date by September too. Go figure :deal
