Thats why its called negotiating buddy.. They have to come to an agreement. Hes just trying to hit that soft spot where they can both agree to. Why would he not try for 50/50 first to see floyds reaction. If that doesnt work out, they renegotiate. Theres alot going on the inside. You cant just say ok, i agree to your terms floyd. We talking about alot of $$$ here. Not your 20K a year job dude.

Team Pacquiao is never consistent. They did the same thing to Hatton and to Oscar.
They said they would take less money, but when it came down to it, they would not take less money.

Manny and his team change their minds so many times its unbelievable. These guys don't want any part of Floyd. It's been obvious from the start.

It seems Pacquiao is willing to take a lesser cut for either the guarantee or the Pay Per View revenue, but not both, which is fair. Both offers after the last fall-out he's given indicate he doesn't wanted to be shafted both ways, but will skim off of one pool to get the fight made. Which is good I suppose. It is frustrating that they're inconsistent, but you could easily say the same thing about the other side as well.

    :yep

It's been better than 2 years this saga has yo-yo'd back and forth and it's come. To the point it's tough for anybody to have much to ***** about without being hypocritical in one way or the other.

    1) Floyd will never take the guarantee because he wants to finance the fight...risk/reward principles of business.

    2) 55 to the winner makes no sense to the investors involved...this method creates uncertainty and changes the deal from "investing" to "gambling".

    3) In the video, Konz sounded rehearsed as **** when he butted in and Pacquiao had no idea what he was saying otherwise he would have said it himself.

    4) Floyd doesn't want to include Arum because they can't come to an agreement.

    5) Like Pacquiao said in the video, he is happier with a guarantee (because it is riskless profit) but it is Arum who wants PPV revenue to pad his own pockets...without PPV revenue Arum is only entitled to commission from Pacquiao's purse.

#5 is the main reason negotiations broke down, imo

pac would only see a sliver of that 50% of PPV, the lions share would go to arum and top prank

That is a damn good way to explain it.

So basically, Floyd works off a "commission" type structure. He is never guaranteed any money. He has to sell his fight and then he gets money.

I look at like a base salary plus commission for fighters like Pacquiao, Hopkins, Mosley, Kirkland, etc etc...

These guys get a base plus a percentage. Floyd just sticks to what is generated. If the fight does not sell, then he does not get paid. This is a beautiful article which explains how Floyd makes so much money. He doesn't get a base pay (guarantee), and instead makes strictly what is sold...even on popcorn and drinks.
