Anyways, neither Hopkins nor Calzaghe is smaller than Jones. Jones was never a full sized LHW and was always the smaller man in the ring on fight night in that division.

 

Hopkins is a natural 175lb fighter. He did lots and lots of roadwork and became a vegie to make 160. And is linail 175lb Champ.

Joe eats 500 calories a day and does full training to make 168lbs

Roy is a natural SMW. Also he was 193 when he fought Ruiz. One time. He wants to fight them at 175/168.

 

I'd say RJJ is a little bigger, but it's marginal and makes very little difference

Physique can be deceptive, and is not neccessarily indicitive of strength in the ring

 

Jones no longer struggles to make 175...he did after gaining weight to fight at HW, but that was only after the original weight loss. Key point is he GAINED weight. Both Calzaghe and Hopkins could ALWAYS have fought at 175, but simply chose not to. Jones was never a natural 175lb fighter. If he was having trouble making 175, why would he fight Trinidad at 170? Remember, Jones started at 154...
