How is Hopkins not the same size as RJJ?????

people forget that rjj started at 154? just because he was a heavyweight for one fight doesnt mean that bernard hopkins is a smaller man then he is. Hopkins was gonna fight at heavyweight too.

JC is one of the most dominant fighters in the world right now.... maybe thats why he wants to fight him? same with hopkins.

He knows he cant beat tarver.... (if he could he would have done it that 3rd fight) and even less of a shot against GJ, so hes going with other options that still make superfights.

Dude first off Hopkins was fighting at Light Heavy when he started his career.. Secondly Jones used to fight at Middleweight earlier in his caeer. Joe C has never fought lower then SMW so how the hell is Jones "naturally" bigger then Hopkins or Joe???:huh

which ever poster brought up size said that jones would call out joe c because joe c is the smaller guy. they're similar sized dudes but the possibly valid point the poster might have been trying to make was that rjj ain't afraid to fight joe c because he doesn't feel joe ci is a threat to knock him out.

I would prefer Jones Calzaghe only becuase you will see more punches thrown in that fight than the Hopkins fights as it seems from the Wright fight all he is happy to do is throw a few punches then clinch !

That was sort of what i was saying. Right now, what Jones fears most IMO is fighting guys with the potential to hurt him. He's had enough of that.

So that's why he's talking about guys like Joe C and Hopkins. Great fighters yes but not guy with a lot of power. Jones can handle the hand speed. He can touch guys. He just doesn't want to deal with power guys. At least that's what i think.

All i know is that Jones it's not very easy for RJJ to make 175. He has to sweat down. And i know that there is no way that he could've fought at MW for all the years Hopkins was at MW. No way in hell. He's got a naturally muscular frame. And muscle does weigh more than fat.

The difference might not be much but i do think that RJJ is the naturally bigger guy. But i think what's more important is that RJJ thinks that this is the case also which gives him more confidence.

Wow so Kessler and Calzaghe are bums ..Thats a really ignorant thing to say ! I'm sure that mentality was used also when Calzaghe fought the likes of Lacy as I remeber many people were saying that Lacy would be smoking the likes of Joe becuase he was a Euro bum !

Regardless of the outcome it would be brilliant if RJJ came to fight in the UK.
Remember when Tyson came he was mobbed everywhere.

I would like to think RJJ would be given a similar reception.

Surley there is no way a legend like RJJ will be booed by the british public after what he has given to boxing.

Maybe RJJ could become British and we could swap him for Audley Harrison:yep

I was auctioning off an authentic Grant boxing glove that was signed by RJJ and the winning bidder was someone from the UK. She said that she was a big fan. It was cool selling my glove to someone who really loved RJJ as i do.

One think that I noticed about the UK fans is that they really appreciate the sport of boxing and respect the boxers themselves ...Oh and by the way we don't want Audley maybe Amir Khan instead :rofl
