well, maybe Povetkin - Tua would be Sasha's next path to a title fight with Wlad, which he will postpone for yet another two years.

If they don't demote him over what happened they are going to look pretty silly. Then again, when has that ever bothered an abc?

He's #1 in the WBO too. Presumably he'll have to fight an eliminator probably against #2 Tua (which is insane that he's #2) but if he wins and becoms WBO mandatory i don't see how a fight vs washed up Tua is going to prepare him any better for a fight vs Vova.

doesnt matter what any other organization is doing with Povetkin... ONLY the IBF removed him from #1. WBO is different... I will say, they might start to look at it since at some point the WBO mand will be coming around and its clear Povetkin doesnt want it

I understand that... but when the IBF removed him it didnt do anything to the WBO rankings.... they may look at it now .... but they decide for themselves

actually I wonder of Povetkin would even take an elim fight with Tua knowing if he wins he would once again have to face Wlad. I wonder who will become #1 if Povetkin pulls away

I have to imagine the WBO will drop Tua in their rankings after that **** poor draw. And it doesn't matter. Povetkin would beat seven shades of **** out of Tua.

    WBO
    1 Povetkin
    2 Tua
    3 Adamek
    4 Boytsov

Yeah that's what i was getting at. If he won't fight Vova cuz he doesn't think he's ready i don't see how he'll feel any more ready after a Tua fight. Perhaps he'll decline an eliminator fight (which is insane to think that he'd give up 2 mandatory spots, jesus) which could allow another guy an oppertunity.

I would love to see Adamek or Boytsov get a shot instead. Perhaps Adamek would step up after the Grant fight? Boytsov and his people seem to not want to fight the Klychko's, perhaps due to the Sdunek connection with Vitali. It's time for Boytsov to step up though.

P.S. there is no way Tua should get to keep the #2 spot after that robbery of a draw in what was an absolutley atrocious performance vs Barrett.
