Now that both Pacquaio and Mayweather are retired lets assess their careers

Now they are both ostensibly retired, we can make our final decisions on their respective careers.

H2H, Floyd was the bigger, rangier, and more skilled fighter. He held physical and stylistic advantages over the smaller Pacquaio, and H2H was the victor.

Overall, Pacquaio has the better resume, the bigger achievements, and overall the 'greater' career.

Floyd achieved some incredible things, but Pacquaio climbed 10(!!!) weight divisions and won championships and set records that will likely never be broken. I find it hard to overlook that in favour of a H2H loss against a bigger man when determining overall greatness.

Now they are both retired, I hope we can all appreciate what they did in a bi-partisan way

in terms of accoalades and achievements Manny Pacquaio stands alone in this era

Floyd ducked Margarito, Cotto, Martinez, and Pacquiao. Floid was a cherrypicker and he was also on roids. End of.

In terms of legacy it doesn't matter that Pacquiao lost to Mayweather.

Duran got knocked out by Hearns in two rounds, yet everyone would agree that overall Duran ranks higher than Hearns.

Pacquiao has a better overall resume than Mayweather and he achieved more.

Being undefeated doesn't count for that much amongst the ATGs; the greatest boxers of all time all lost to someone at some point.

I'm British so I have no agenda, wouldn't consider myself a fan of either but they were/are very talented boxers.

Sorry but is does matter in my opinion. Yes there will be fights and performances that were very special and excellent achievements but Mayweather and Pacquiao will be mentioned like Ali and Frazier or even Morales Barrera.

We all waited 6 years to see who was the best, it was a poor fight and a complete let down but it was the biggest money fight in history so that's the bottom line.

They fought and Mayweather won, that's all that will be remembered if we are honest when you think of the pair of them together and they will always be mentioned together.

You can't just say it doesn't matter, only a bitter and twisted Pacquiao fan would say that.

If that's the case then I'm impressed, Pacquiao started at Flyweight

You're the first to ever make that comparison. Everyone in their right mind compares them to Duran and SRL or Hearns,

OP started off correct then got sidetracked. Unlike many Pac fans I'm not a bitter or jealous moron. So I have no problem admitting that Pac had a great career.

But at the end of the day like the OP started out saying,

. And that's the bottom line.

So your top 100 list is a descending list of skilled to least skilled fighters?

There's actually zero peer-reviewed empirical scientific evidence whatsoever demonstrating a correlation between height and ***** size in human males. Pygmies can be tripods and if you could walk through an NBA locker room you'd see a surprising number of "mushrooms in cabbage patches", to quote Howard Stern on his own self-professed "not a shower, barely a grower". :good

I'm not comparing them as fighters, maybe I didn't explain myself correctly.

If you say the name Morales you automatically think Barrera, it's a natural thought. Same with Ali, you think Ali Frazier.

They are rivals, have been for so long you can't think of one without the other, they are just names that are associated with each other.
